East Hampton House is a motel but it is well maintained and is hands down one of the more affordable options in the area. We stayed in a two room suite which was very roomy. The bathroom was clean (well, except for the gross large black beetle waiting for me on my towel when I got out of the shower), the bed was very comfortable and the people at the front desk are very nice. It's certainly not "luxurious" but it is quaint and you just can't beat the location- so close to East Hampton town and Amagansett. Also, super fabulous to have a Goldberg's Bagels right across the street!

We've been coming to the EHH periodically for over 15 years. The property never dissappoints. The rooms are comfortable and well cleaned, each has a patio and some in-room kitchen facilities. The grounds are amazing - beautifully landscaped by the same gentleman over the years. The pool is excellent with several tennis courts on site. The little fitness center is more than adequate to keep up your routine while vacationing. The staff is (mostly) nice and responsive. The property has passes to several nearby local beaches.
I was reluctant to write this review because we want to keep EHH all for ourselves. You can relax here and be surrounded by the beauty of the area. One negative, If you get a downstairs room you can hear your upstairs neighbor. However, If they are considerate without kids you should be fine.

Room Tip: upstairs to avoid neighbor walking

My husband, son and I spent a great weekend in East Hampton in late July and loved the location of this hotel/motel. It's small, but clean and definitely had what we needed. Loved the swing set in the backyard for our son and we also took a glimpse of the pool and tennis courts. There aren't any amenities to this location but loved being on the first level since you get outdoor space with lawn chairs.

It is expensive, but what can you expect, It's East Hampton!

The downside were the mattresses. They should invest in better bedding.

Room Tip: Depends on what you mean by a good room. The rooms are old looking but clean. I would ask for a room...

Location, location, location. This is an extensive motel like accomodation which is well situated in East Hampton, on lovely grounds. Our room was clean, with good AC, and equipped with a tiny kitchen. But a motel it is, and in high season, the rate is rye-diculous. Which reminds me, try the bagel place across the street for breakfast, but avoid Fish 27.

Wonderful place--harkens back to bygone days of Long Island. If you're looking for chic overpriced perfection (and many E.H.'ers are) then this is not the place for you. However, if you're looking for something genuine for relaxation, a fabulous pool (its bottom is satiny soft), great maid service, efficient and flexible front desk staffers, and a home-away-from-home, then EHH is the hotel for you. We loved the location which is close to EH and Amagansett villages and directly across the street from many good restaurants. Our room was renovated, comfortable, and the 2nd floor deck furniture brand new. Not sure why some reviewers say it's rundown--the grounds are lovely and most of the rooms we saw were nice. Even our king size bed was super comfy. Just a terrifice place and this review is our way of saying thank you and see you soon!

The rooms are run down. Each room is owned by a different person. So the rooms are inconsistent --- they range from okay to terrible. The rooms need an update badly!!! Please get new beds.

Stayed 2 nights at East Hampton House when I visited family During a week in late June. Really enjoyed the space in their 2 room suite, with king sized bed, separate living area, kitchenette and outdoor patio. Very clean, not fancy, but a step above a motel at a very reasonable value for the area. Jackie was gracious and very kind. Had to change my original reservation at the last minute due to illness. They were so accommodating and changed the reservation without penalty. Will return and stay there whenever I visit my family. CLose to the town center, quiet, and there is a great bagel place right across the street, with yummy French toast as well. lovely grounds.

Room Tip: Stayed in a corner suite on first level that was lovely and away from the road.
