“Over prices, under portioned, Hells Kitchen Wanna Be”
Reviewed February 21, 2012

We have some really good restaurants in the Hamptons, and many of them are priced to the rich and famous, however, the experience is often worth it. Le Maison Blanch for example has similarly priced menu but the food and ambiance are worth it. Here the food is mediocre, portioned to demitasse, and priced way to high for an appetizer sized entre.

“Italian...not really”
Reviewed January 23, 2012

Citta Nuova's main pro is that it is right on Newtown Lane, a few steps away from Main St and surrounded by designer stores. It has a great outside (front and back) and is nicely decorated.

They have a very good espresso but if you are European and actually want to have a quick coffee at the counter before going to work, forget about it.
You will be asked if you want something to eat about 7 times (it takes less than 20 seconds to drink a shot of espresso so imagine how many times you will hear the question!).
Needless to say that if you are thinking about enjoying a coffee with a dessert at tea time, it will come as a choc to the team.

The food is not worth the price listing. Not bad but not great.
The pasta is generally too cooked, al dente is not a concept they hold close to their heart, but the dessert carte is very nice.

I think that Citta tends to attract a big part of the EU market living or visiting EH and they should ask a consultant about how to cater to foreigners (and national of course) guests...
It would make the atmosphere of the restaurant much more relaxing and give it a certain je ne sais quoi!

In the meantime, drive to Sag for good pasta (Tutto il Giorno) and to Pierre's in Bridge for great coffee and cakes!

“Great meal”
Reviewed September 12, 2011

Great meal in East Hampton - right on Main St. Excellent food at good prices for the area. Great place to see the action on the street! Have been for several years - always good.

“Consistently delicious”
Reviewed August 8, 2011

My family and I eat here several times each August and are never disappointed. From grilled branzino to delicious fresh cheeses and home made pasta. This time I was wowed by fried baby artichokes, creamy polenta with sage, and gnocchi with duck ragu among others all washed down with a delicious Nero d'Avola from Sicily. The staff is stressed but unfailingly polite and hard working. Chill and enjoy!

“Central E. Hampton village location, see and be seen, not that great tho.”
Reviewed June 15, 2011

Okay Italian food, but hopping busy see n be seen sidewalk warm weather patio outside and busy bar scene up front. Tiny gelato stand in front, too. Don't expect effusive service in the back and back outside dining room. The place has a contemporary feel, and you will be served your meal in a timely manner with little or no charm. Modern dining chairs not that comfortable. The place has fair to good food -- is it too much to ask to hire some servers/host staff with a more hospitable attitude ? If you want warm n fuzzy n welcoming this may not be the place for you.
