“Best Greek Salad on the East End”
Reviewed April 27, 2013

I love John Papa's, this place is great for lunch and I've never had anything I didn't like. This is the most reasonable place to eat price-wise in the area, and the staff are always friendly. The Greek salad is loaded with feta and the dressing is delish! Friends had a special of fish pita and salad, along with breakfast (that is served all day).

Love this place!

“An old favorite, Greek diner, essentially (overpriced, tho!)”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

This place is like home. I always order a Greek salad with tuna salad on top. Or a Greek burger. It's friendly, comfortable, no-nonsense, and unpretentious. A godsend in the ridiculously pretentious scene that poor old East Hampton has become. That said, it's absurdly overpriced. My favorite Greek salad with tuna on top is something like $17 bucks. C'Mon! I still go to John Papas . . . I'll always go . . .but, you know, I could eat a much fancier and more delectable meal at, say, Cittanuova or even Yama Q for that. Anyway, John Papas is more or less the only place for miles where you can have a basic eggs/bacon/toast kind of breakfast. Bless them.

“We weren't disappointed!”
Reviewed December 30, 2012

While in Montauk, we decided to take in a movie. The closest was the theater in East Hampton. Next we wanted to find a place to eat, with a casual atmosphere. While searching on line we came across John Papas Cafe. We weren't disappointed. A very nice breakfast menu, which was tempting but we chose a cheeseburger and salad. A great place to take the family. Not a large restaurant but we were lucky to get a table right away. I have feeling that may not be the case all the time! The prices were good and the service friendly and great.

“Luncheonette with Great Food”
Reviewed December 11, 2012

This modest restaurant run by a Greek Family is a wonderful stop for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The menu is extensive (almost diner size) and everything is prepared fresh. Great place for a casual meal with the kids or dinner before a movie. They serve sandwiches and burgers, salads, breakfast all day, plus a handful of specials each day. There is something for everyone and John Papas is definitely one of the best values in the Hamptons.

When you are in East Hampton - make it a point to stop and visit John Papas Cafe - we enjoyed breakfast with the locals..... note - it is off Montauk Highway in the rear of the shops.....well worth the visit!
