Description: Babette's is an eclectic cutting edge restaurant. Our focus is on Clean Food - organic, local and seasonal, supporting farmers and growers who do the right thing. Sustainability. The name Babette's was inspired by the enchanting and bewitching film 'Babette's Feast' whereby one woman awakens an entire village to life, preparing and serving a feast of sensual foods and wines. Welcome to Babette's. The restaurant of possibility.

This restaurant offers ordinary omelets as a breakfast feature and acceptable salads at lunch at wildly inflated prices. Yes, its East Hampton but the service is ordinary and if you sit outside to watch the scene you will be attacked by mosquitoes and yellow jackets . Open seasonally for dinner. As a year around resident, I keep taking guests to Babettes to see the scene and am always disappointed.

Living in East Hampton I've tried eating at Babette's several times and always ask myself, why? The food is crazy expensive and mediocre at best, and that's being kind. It's touted as being organic and healthy, but the buzzing flies would suggest otherwise. It's a good vantage point if you want to sit and people watch on a busy summer or early fall day, but that's all it's really good for.

This place came on a recommendation, but I don't understand why. The food was average at best, but the prices were astronomical...even for the Hamptons. The place is small, but it is right in town and its boutique-esque. We did have a very friendly waitress, and for a crowed place the service was pretty fast.
