My husband and I visited here on our recent visit to the Hamptons. We saw an ad for the Pollock-Krasner House and called up to make a reservation (you need to do this in the off-season). Nobody answered, so we left a message and heard back fairly quickly.
When we arrived at the House we roamed around and checked out the property before the tour. Our tour group was small, maybe 6, and we had a wonderful tour guide. This tour guide had been working at the House for 13 years and was able to answer all of our questions while weaving a story of Jackson and Lee that made you feel like you were well-acquainted with the couple.
Seeing the studio was fascinating. Whether going in as an art enthusiast (like my husband) or a casual enjoyer of art (like me) seeing a place where an iconic American artist created his works was a powerful experience. You even get to walk on the floor boards that still have the splatter from his painting (with special slippers of course).
All in all, the tour took about 1.5 hours and was well worth the $10 we paid. We would definitely recommend it for a small stop while visiting town.
