Americas Best Value Inn - E Greenbush / Albany

I went with this hotel due to the price being lower than a lot of other hotels in the area. I paid 89.00 for Saturday night rate. While the staff was very pleasant, the hotel is pretty run down. Overall musty odor in the room, the bathroom door did not close, the shower curtain had mold on it and the pillows and blankets were of worn with age. It served it's purpose but I do feel for almost 100.00 a night it could have been a little spruced up.

I stayed here for 1 night w/ my kids and we had a blast. When I asked the hotel manager Ben for a room upgrade as a value club member he said no problem and gave me an upgrade. He was so helpful and accommodating. The room was basic, clean, w/ a microwave and fridge. That's great because there was a supermarket in walking distance so there was another great money saving experience. There was a Funflex Park across the street where the kids played for hours at a very low cost to me (budget friendly) and then we topped it off w/ lickety split ice cream who gave great servings at low prices. All in all I was satisfied for the money I spent and would return again.

I do not recommend this place if you dislike horrible mold smell or have allergies. EVERY room in the place smelled terrible. The smell was so bad that you are probably inhaling mold. We were told to "just open the window".

The room looked clean. The hotel is in a decent enough area. The room was outdated. The smell was so bad that I seriously think the health department needs to be contacted.
I would rather sleep in my car or in a tent at a campground then to sleep in a room that smelled like mold or whatever that was. Just one whiff and you know you should not be breathing the air in that place.

Low priced compared to some other options, as a result the accommodations are very basic. The rooms are always clean, the staff always courteous. Restaurants and a super market are minutes away on the same road. Rooms typically have a television, microwave and mini-fridge but no coffee pot and no alarm clock. All in all a good choice for the budget conscious.

Room Tip: Some of the rooms are outside, like a motel and there are more rooms inside the main building. If yo...

Very affordable, clean, quiet, good location for meals, shopping, and other services, and travel around the area, plus a very helpful staff.
I highly recommend this place and have stayed here before in the past, and definitely will stay here again in the future.

I recently needed to go to East Greenbush, NY to visit family and found this lovely Inn on line. It's not fancy but it was clean and in a convenient location close to both Albany and Troy. Even drove to Latham one night for dinner!! All the rooms are on the first floor so you can park your car right in front. This was perfect for us because my 83 year old mother is a bit unsteady with her walking. There is also a small microwave and a refridgerator in the room which is great if you want to save money on meals. The staff is also very hospitable and friendly. Next time I have to visit the Albany area I will stay here again!!

Facing heavy snows heading east over the Berkshires we pulled off Rt 90 and searched for a local lodge. This reasonably priced place was close so we took it. The staff was friendly and the room was just a bit dated but very clean and comfortable and bigger than expected with a king bed. It was very quiet being somewhat off the road. We could have used an in-room coffee pot in the morning. Shower water was wonderfully hot and powerful.
