Small place in a strip mall, but do miss this place for a great dinner. Small but worth a call ahead if you would like to make a reservation, but I was on business, and ate at the bar. It was fine.

Great specials - Great service - I had the spinach salad as an appetizer for $8 thought it was pricy, but it WAS delicious with bacon & a great Ranch peppercorn dressing. But the star was the Lamb Feta meatballs & spaghetti with a great tomato sauce. It was only $16.99 a great price for a better meal!
What was nice they wrapped my leftover & there is a note that Thanks you for coming in from Chef Mike.
They appreciate your business. That's nice

We have eaten at Chez Mike a number of times. It is in the most unlikely of locations, but very convenient at the Hannaford Plaza where Route 4 ends at Columbia Turnpike. The restaurant isn't large, but generally has seats available. Still, we always make reservations. Seating is comfortable at tables or booths. The service is unobtrusive and efficient. The menu is quite original and varied, but not long or priced high. They provide additional, inventive specials daily. We have found the ingredients to be fresh every time, the portions just right, and the presentation pleasant. Our single complaint is there are mushrooms in so many dishes and my husband is allergic to them.

Don't judge a book by the cover. Chez Mike is in a non-descript strip center and you would not notice it unless you were looking. We found it on Trip Advisor and went based on the recommendations. The staff is extremely nice and attentive. Food is good and they offer specials as well as a 3 course meal on select nights. The arugula salad and back bean soup was very good as well as the main course. The crème brule and the flourless chocolate cake are worth the calories.

We drove around East Greenbush a while looking for highly rated Trip Advisor spots. A couple were closer to the hotel, but both were closed (on a Friday night, no less) so we hit the #1 spot and found a lively place in a strip mall with an interesting menu. We did not have a reservation, but they got us seated in about ten minutes. While full, we were able to carry on a comfortable conversation at our table. Service took a few minutes, but the servers were all friendly and accommodating.

The menu had good choices, but I went for the burger. Very good, well prepared, lots of garnish. My wife had an asparagus appetizer that was excellent and satisfying.

We each had a glass of Toasted Head chardonnay, which was good but a little pricy. At $9.00 a glass, we could have had the whole bottle in the liquor store. Overall, however, we were pleased with the experience.

Chef/owner Michael Cohen is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America & has worked in some fine restaurants such as the Four Seasons Hotel in New York City; it shows. This restaurant, located in a strip mall, has a casual neighborhood feel but the food is high-end. Many of the items on his menu have an interesting twist. For example, one entree comes with Rye Spaetzle; there's a Ramp Risotto entree as well as Lamb - Feta Meatballs. You shouldn't be apprehensive that the food is too gourmet though as it just tastes good! Their bread came with olive butter although you could get plain butter, if you preferred. We were told that all desserts & ice cream are made in house although we didn't indulge this time. They served us small homemade, delicious chocolate chip cookies at the very end of our meal though. Lastly we were told that they currently are offering a 3 course special on Tues. & Wed. for $21.99 - sounds like a good deal to me!
