Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review. I am so happy to hear that you enjoyed your time with us and hope to welcome you back in the near future. It is always nice to have a little peace and quiet outside of the NYC hustle and bustle and I am happy that we were able to provide that. I will pass your kind remarks on to Carollynn as well.
Have a Great Day,
I booked on Hotwire assuming I was going to get a 3.5 star hotel that was compared to Double Tree or Radisson. The Laguardia Plaza hotel was nothing close to either of these hotel chains. It was old, dirty, run down and disgusting. Half of the lights and all but one of the outlets were out. The carpet and furniture were old and dirty. The sheets and bed looked clean but compared to the rest of the room, and hotel, appearance I didn't even want to sleep in it. Location to the airport was close and convenient but there are tons of hotels you can stay at there. I woul NEVER stay at this hotel or use Hotwire again.
I sincerely apologize for your experience with the LaGuardia Plaza Hotel. The property, although not recently renovated, is usually very clean and the staff usually goes above and beyond to welcome travellers and make them feel at home.
The convenient location, clean rooms and friendly staff generally makes this hotel a very good value for the area.
We will look closely into your experience to be sure other guests are not exposed to similar experiences.
We thank you for your business.
I wanted to thank Josefine Rodriguez, Guest Relations Manager at the LaGuardia Plaza Hotel for the professional way she worked with me regarding a food and beverage issue I thought I had. My daughter stayed at your hotel the evening she returned from an overseas vacation and told me that she ate only one meal (dinner). Upon looking at the debit card account she uses for her expenses, I noticed what I thought was a double charge of two different amounts for her meal. I contact the Hotel and was transferred to Josefine Rodriguez for assistance. Josefine listened patiently while I explained my problem and offered to assist me by checking the restaurants receipts during the date of the 'error'. When I later spoke with my daughter, she told me that she also had breakfast at the hotel and 'didn't think breakfast was a meal'. I called Josefine immediately and apologized, she told me that it was not necessary to apologize and was very professional and understanding with the way she approached my daughters error. I never wrote a hotel review before but I felt that I had to say how much I appreciated the way this 'error' was handled. The next time we're in New York, we're staying at the LaGuardia Plaza. My daughter loved it and Thank You Josefine. Larry Elson, Commerce Twp., MI
Thank you for your kind words regarding the staff at the LaGuardia Plaza Hotel and thank you for your business.
The entire staff is very proud of their work and hearing messages such as yours keeps them inspired; I will be sure to pass this along.
Booked via PL for 100$ (not bad considering this was Dec. 30 in NYC). The hotel itself (outside, lobby, halls) is in definite need of a renovation...the colours are horrible, the carpets on the dirty side, a bit sad to see. However, was very satisfied with my room. A good king bed, very comfortable, a good sized bathroom, needing a bit of TLC, free wifi, but the old CRT TV must go, the colours were faded, and not a lot of channels. The furniture is a bit old too.
Used the gym, decently appointed with a variety of machines, and the pool, with nice warm water, and a good Jacuzzi. The change room needs a good clean up and renovation.
Did buy the breakfast buffet at 15$, which was decent, but the scrambled eggs were plain and tasteless, and the blintzes a tad dry. Service was attentive and friendly.
Shuttle service runs on clockwork, every 20 minutes, and a very short drive to LGA. The driver was quite cheerful and friendly. They share the shuttles with the Hampton Inn next door. Hourly service to Willets Point station is also offered (one way to Willets Point, return on your own).
Overall, a very decent option close to LGA. Would not really recommend for people visiting NYC over many days, given the better options in LIC.
I travled to New York city on my first time, and got no idea about the city and what to see and play with fun. However, this front desk guy, names Allen, he is really nice and have a lot good suggestions of traveling in New York. As a local New Yorker, he gave me really good thoughts of New York people. He suggested some really good chinese restaurants which were really good taste and I never had before in my city-Phoenix. As a stranger in such a big city, for sure I did need such a good guide. Besides him, the LaGuardia plaza hotel is a nice place to stay, clean place, friendly people working there, location is extreme convenient. I would like to rate this place five stars and recommend to whose new to New York, and wish to have good experience.
Wonderful experience for a three-days trip to NYC with my girlfriend Baoqing. Clean room, free Wi-fi, great shuttle service and hospital helps from Allen!
