East Aurora N.Y. has to be the quintessential small-town America at its very best. The houses have wonderful deep porches, the tree-lined streets seem to be safe and friendly, and the downtown boasts one of the last 5 and dimes in the country. The renovated Roycroft Inn was lovely...a nice suite with Arts and Crafts decor, a great bathroom with Jacuzzi tub and lots of white fluffy towels. The bed was comfortable, and the staff personable. I agree that the continental breakfast was only so-so. But I will definitely return to visit this little piece of Americana.
