Owner description: Millard Fillmore was the 13th president of the United States serving between 1826 and 1830. Auroraeans are proud that we shared in the young adult life of Millard Fillmore and his wife Abigail. We feel honored to have the Millard and Abigail Fillmore House designated as a National Historic Landmark and hope that you will enjoy coming to visit.

“Historically significant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 29, 2012

We visited the Millard Fillmore House not well versed on presidential history sans the information from the Aurora Historical Society's website. Our guide, Kathy Frost, was outstanding! She put everything in perspective and was very enthusiastic during our entire tour. Great hospitality and incredible detail has been given to everything. We drove an hour to and would do so again. This is truly a place worth visiting when in the area.

“Nice side trip.”

We enjoyed the presentations by enthusiastic volunteers. Small house with nice artifacts of the time period. We had to plan our trip because the museum has limited hours.

“Nice stop - not far from Buffalo”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 29, 2011

If you're in Buffalo or Niagara Falls, a day trip to East Aurora might be just what you need. The kids will love the Kazoo Factory and Vidler's 5-and-dime. For lunch, you could stop at Taste in Orchard Park (near to this); a coffee/sandwich shop that has a definitely cool vibe. This museum is also a great stop. Really small, but the volunteers are passionate about it - you can tell. (Some dress in period clothing.) You learn some interesting things about the President, the time period, and how this house came to be (he built it himself in ANOTHER location - they literally picked it up & moved it later). I really recommend checking this out. My fiance is not a history buff (and I am) - but we were both captivated by information provided. Cheap to get in - I think $5/person. Fair price when you realize that you're helping to support the (apparently) last house standing that a President built with his own hands.
