Has a great hamburger but the ambiance suffers. The wait staff was attentive even though it got quite full.

This has been a favorite of ours for a number of years. The entrance of the place opens up into the cozy bar, which is seemingly a local's hangout. The bartender is likely to remember your names after only a couple visits - which is always a nice touch. We've tried a number of the menu choices - stuffed hot pepper app, burgers, beef on weck and buffalo wings. The last 3 items are always on a great special during any Sabres games - but are more than worth even their regular price. Burgers are served plain, cajun spiced or bbq and come in 2 sizes and are always cooked exactly as ordered - and on the freshest homestyle bun. We usually do the cajun burger with blue cheese done medium and have yet to be disappointed. Yes it's across the street from Buffalo's 'famous' burger joint that starts with a 'G' - but this place does take credit cards and non-burger items that are also excellent.

Skip Grover across the street and order a burger at Rock Bottom! Great charred outside with a perfect cooked medium inside. Flavor was great! Only downside was super slooooow service

Go ahead and order the burgers when you get seated. They are flavorful, hot and plenty of topping, fries would be a good addition.
My daughter loves the portabella sandwich.
Avoid the meatloaf - wow was that a disappointment.
If you walk in and there is a line, open tables and no one speaks to you. Leave, leave immediately. i have waited and it never gets better, excuses but no burger.
The service can be so poor due to many reasons, I've been told, short staffed, either in the kitchen or in the dinning room, sometimes both, we did not expect to be busy.
Owner please don't comment, you know your service can be less that it should be. If your bartender wasn't so busy being a waitress, she could play hostess and speak to the growing line.

Burgers, Burgers, Burgers! Get the burger! Service was great, quick and friendly. Nice outdoor patio with about 10 tables, and the insides recently renovated bathrooms and dining area were warm and welcoming. My husband and I will definitely be back soon!
