My family and I stayed in this hotel one night on our way to a vacation in Lake Placid. Just getting into the hotel was an experience. There is a curb at the front door and no place to pull rolling luggage up to the door. Next we had to negotiate two sets of heavy doors that were not automatic. While struggling with the first heavy door you must grab the second door and then try to pass the first door off to the person behind you. Not exactly a warm welcome for weary travelors. I also wonder how a person in a wheel chair would get into this hotel.
Once inside, the lobby looks like grandma's living room on a budget. Not updated at all. After we checked in we found out there is no elevator in the hotel. To get to the second floor you must drag all your luggage up a wood staircase (wood steps). Again I wonder what a handicapped person or an elderly person would do to get to the second floor.
The room was a typical spartan, old school hotel room. The sheets were thin and the blankets were gross and matted. I will comment that the bathroom and shower appeared clean.
Needless to say, we slept with the blankets pulled back, got up and out early. After dragging our luggage back down the stairs we were in no humor for the breakfast and passed.
May I mention we booked this hotel with no access to trip advisor. A big mistake.
