Owner description: McGregor Vineyard is one of the oldest wineries in the Finger Lakes featuring estate grown and bottled vinifera wines. We invite you to sample these exquisite wines in our seated tasting room while enjoying the most spectacular views of Keuka Lake.

The last stop on our Keuka Lake wine tour. We came around the end, as there was only one table there. You are seated at a table, and they'll bring over the glass and the menu of drinks to choose from. It's about $5 for 5 tastings, plus you get to keep the glass. They also include a plate of snacks/cheese and chocolate to go with your wines. The wines are all quite good, and the server even allowed us to try a few more wines more than the 5. It was nice to just sit, relax and enjoy the view and wine. What a good way to end our wine tour.

Our college gang get together includes a trip to McGregor's Vineyard each July. The view from the tasting area is awesome. The wines are very good, although somewhat pricey. For the tasting fee, you are given food samples and you get your wine glass to keep. A big plus is that you can pick which five wines you wish to sample. I like that because I like only dry white wines. If you are visiting the Finger Lakes, I highly recommend this attraction.

They have some very good wines and some average wines, and a few excellent ones. Their Cabernet Franc was a standout, and their Black Russian Red is the big one, but it's over $50. They have a nice tasting room area and friendly service. We bought some of the local sauces and dressings they have there, but the wine was on the steep side, so we didn't get much.

If you are wine touring, then I recommend you pick up the $12 Passport at one of the winery gift shops. It takes care of the tasting fees for 7 of the main wineries around Keuka for TWO people (although some offer free tastings anyway). It also has discounts to the gift shops, local restaurants, and B&Bs like the Fox Inn where we stayed (see my review).

McGregor has a very substantial selection of wines. They are all quite good, but there are almost too many to choose from and they are not inexpensive!

We went to McGregor winery this past weekend and had a fantastic time. They welcome you as if you're coming into their house which was wonderful! We were seated in the back with a view of the lake and given snacks to pair with the wines. The spinach pesto dip was addictive and a nice touch! The tasting is $5 but is waived with a $30 purchase. We bought a case of wines because we loved them all, especially the 2008 Black Russian Red, 2008 Rob Roy and all their Rieslings and Unoaked Chardonnay. Overall it was a fantastic experience that we almost passed on because it's off the beaten path. Do not skip this winery as it will become your favorite!
