“Amazing Bed & Breakfast!”
Reviewed August 10, 2012

Chuck and Gerry made my husband and I feel welcome the moment we pulled up to the 1897 Beekman House. They gave us a tour of the beautifully restored home, peppered with historical and personal anecdotes. We stayed in the French Room, which was gorgeous and so comfortable.

The breakfasts were simply incredible! Chuck's creative gourmet cuisine coupled with Gerry's gracious hospitality made breakfast the best part of our day! Each 3 course breakfast was a joy to behold and even better to eat.

My husband and I absolutely loved our 3 night stay and wouldn't hesitate to return.

My husband and I stayed at the 1897 Beekman House for a three day weekend to celebrate our 5 year anniversary. It was the best experience we have had on vacation. I have never felt sad about leaving a hotel or B&B until this trip! The Victorian style home is beautifully maintained and restored with an interesting history (that is shared with you by Chuck and Gerry-owners). The rooms downstairs offer plenty of space to relax morning, noon, and evening. The guest rooms with private bathrooms are gorgeously decorated and include fine details to make the stay beyond luxurious. The best parts of this B&B, though, are the pampering and food. Chuck is an extremely talented chef and serves a delectable 3 course gourmet breakfast-an amazing way to start each day on a full and satisfied stomach and delicious afternoon snacks! Chuck and Gerry take every measure to make guests feel welcome and attend to your every need (often before you even think of it!). Their service went so far as having champagne glasses waiting out for us on the evening of our anniversary because Chuck and Gerry heard that we had brought a bottle of champagne to celebrate. The two truly listen to you as you converse with them, asking questions about your plans and how your day went, keeping an eye on weather and upcoming events in the area to keep you informed, and responding to what you share by providing things that will help make your stay even more enjoyable. They thought of every little touch before we arrived and during our stay to make it a weekend to remember. Though we just returned home, we are already planning our next stay at the 1897 Beekman House with a couple friends and family because we cannot wait to get back! Staying here is a must!

We stayed for two nights at the Beekman House and it was one of our best experiences at a B&B - and we've stayed in many. Chuck and Gerry have thought of every detail. We stayed in the Cottage Room which was cozy and had an incredible updated bathroom complete with dual-head shower and a separate claw foot bathtub if you want a soak. I really loved the small handmade soap provided (complete with a baggy so you could take it home with you!) as well as all the toiletries. The mattress was amazing and both my husband and had 2 wonderful nights sleep - which can be difficult on the road! The inn also provides free Wi-Fi service.

In addition to our great room, there is a Keurig machine located in the stair landing with all kinds of coffees and teas for guests leisure. A small refrigerator is also available to store the goodies we purchased on our tour of the lake. And a small snack in the evening - as well as mints on our pillows. We really appreciated these amenities.

The breakfasts - as others have attested - were amazing! I have to say they were the best I've had at a B&B if you're a foodie. Chuck is pursuing his second "career" as a chef and he excels at it. We had apple crepes, scones, lemon curd (tdf!), quiche lorraine, kefir smoothies, and homemade sorbet. Bring your appetite for sure!

The location of the Beekman is also ideal for touring. Dundee sits between Keuka and Seneca Lakes. A quick drive takes you to both lakes. The wineries on Seneca start at about a 10 minute drive and Keuka is about 20 minutes. On both lakes you'll find many wineries - as well as newer micro-beer breweries, dairy/cheese stops, and the first distillery - the Finger Lakes Distillery - with award winning whiskey. And there are excellent restaurants as well within a short drive - we loved Red Newt's Bistro.

All in all - an incredible experience at a very affordable price for our room. We will be back.

Foodie Alert! You have arrived at your destination. This, chef run, B&B will not disappoint. The gourmet breakfast is served in leisurely courses and each merits a photo. (this is no Perkins!) There is a menu to peruse posted each evening.

Chef Chuck explains each phase. The breakfast is definitely worth going out of your way to stay at this B&B.

Victorian Alert! B&B is immaculate, well appointed and comfortable. Gerry makes sure you are well taken care of and is a pleasant conversationalist.

You need look no further for a B&B in the Finger Lakes. (we’ve stayed at many others and this one is a gem.) We’ll be back.

My husband and I stayed at the Beekman on a recent weekend getaway. I chose it because of the extremely positive reviews on this site, but the reviews did not do justice to this little Main Street jewel. The Beekman is quite possibly the most charming place I have ever stayed. The home has been beautifully restored to the year it was built while incorporating modern conveniences; thus, a stay here was like comfortably stepping back in time. The bedroom was beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable. The ensuite bath was lovely as well.
Chuck and Jerry exhibited true southern hospitality that even impressed these two native Tennesseans. Breakfast was a testament to Chuck's culinary skills with a blueberry kefir smoothie, the best scones I've had outside of Scotland and a quiche that practically floated off the plate. Double Yum!
Sitting on the deep front porch with the Sunday paper watching the horse drawn buggies pass by was icing on the cake. We shall return, Chuck and Gerry. You made us feel like favorite relatives.Too bad I can only give you a 5. You deserve a 10.

We went to the the Beekman originally because our friends were visiting from out of town and we wanted to stay where they were staying. We were so pleasantly surprised by this beautiful and immacute bed and breakfast in Dundee, NY. The house itself is a step back in time. Its beautiful wood work and period specific details is balanced with modern conveniences. The quiet tranquility of the many common areas is welcome break from the fast pace of our lives. There are four rooms each with its own style and details. The rooms have private baths and are beautifully appointed. The bed itself was wonderful and so comfortable. The dining areas either a group experience in the main dining room or a more intimate, smaller table in the adjecent area with smaller tables that seat 2 or four. The table settings are beautiful. But the most incredible part is breakfast. Chuck, the chef, takes great pride and love in sharing his joy of food. The breakfast is three courses starting with homemade pastry, followed by a fruit course, then the entree. The meal is delicious, creative, and beautifully executed. The breakfast is a true meal. We were completely full and satisfied after this delicious repast. Staying here was more like staying at the home of a vary gracious friend rather than a hotel or even the best bed and breakfast. We plan to return soon and often. With its proximity to both Keuka and Seneca and just a short hop to Canadaigua lakes, the options for wine tasting, racing and a multitude of cultural events is almost limitless. Thank you again for a wonderful time. We hope to see you again in the near future!

Gerry and I have been truly blessed as we read the reviews from our guests. We've enjoyed making new friends each week. Your comment that you felt like you were "staying at the home of a vary gracious friend" really hit home for us, because that was one thing we both expressed as our mission when we began this adventure!

Thank you ALL for your kind remarks, and we truly hope that we will see each of you again very soon!

My wife and I spent a long weekend enjoying Chuck and Gerry's hospitality. Both of them have a wonderful personality and know how to make you feel at home. Chuck's three course breakfasts were absolutely amazing and every day we couldn't wait to see the menu for the following morning. They keep the place so clean that I never even though about how clean it was until after I left; it was truly comfortable. That never happens in a hotel, something always reminds you that other people have stayed there first.

The house is beautiful. From the grain of the wood trim (stunning!), to the super cool 'garage door' orchestra room, every area of the house is decorated with excellent taste and comfort. They have thought of (and have an answer for) all of your needs and from the initial walk-through of the house until you hand them the keys on the way out you'll enjoy the quiet and peaceful atmosphere.

The location is also excellent. Nestled mid-way between Keuka and Seneca lakes, the house is only 10 minutes from wineries on either lake and proved to be an excellent starting point for hopping on the wine trials for both lakes.

I could go on and on, but if you are looking for a place to stay that is peaceful, comfortable, clean, well maintained, accessible, friendly and provides superb breakfasts then there isn't anywhere else to consider; this is the place for you! My wife and I will definitely stay here when we go back to the region each year.

Room Tip: We toured the entire house and saw all of the rooms; each room has it's own unique style. There...
