Beautiful vistas so we stayed to at Glendora, not expecting the experience that followed. The special was chicken on risotto with goat cheese and a lemon sauce. Wow. Our party was cutting the meal in smaller and smaller pieces just make it last. It was truly remarkable.

We went on the tour and learned a great deal about the wine making business and local climate. Our guide was very informative, but the tour was a little dry for us. Then we tried a tasting. The staff member doing our tasting was very busy and split her time between our group and some other groups. There's a fee for tasting, but they didn't blanch when we had two people share a glass. They have a lot of wines and even a port, so it was very hard to narrow down what we wanted to try. The wines were all good, and they had one made from a kind of grape that normally makes juice, so that had a very interesting flavor. They gave us cheese with several of the wines, which was a nice extra. Although they advertise as having grape juice available for children while the grown-ups sample the wine, they had none that day. A staff member explained that they had been out of cups for a week and could not pour juice into a wine glass in case a child might accidentally be served alcohol.

I enjoyed the winery here, but we ate lunch in their restaurant and were really disappointed. While the view from the outdoor dining area was gorgeous, our food (sandwiches) took 45 minutes to get, and the place wasn't even full. Our waitress didn't seem to care too much about our table, and got a bit snarky with us when we asked for our bill. Needless to say, she didn't get much of a tip from us either. The food wasn't even that good. I would go elsewhere next time, unless you just want a place with a nice view.

Had great time at Glenora Winery, lots of great wines to taste test, and be sure to check the variety of good cheeses that they offer!

We are not sophisticated wine drinkers but we know what we like and Glenora had the best selection and had more of the sweeter wines that we like. Also they were the only winery that did NOT refund the wine tasting fee when we bought wine
