A friend and I (plus her 19 year son and friend) spent the weekend of August 16-18th at Darien Lake, We were able to score a RV rental for the weekend at catch the Jason Aldean concert the Saturday night. The RV was very clean. We stayed on Ontario Place Drive which encircles a large field with soccer nets. The noise level was perfect...maybe even too quiet if you are looking to party at night. We had RV 434, which had a queen size bed, and 2 sets of bunk beds at the opposite end. It was enough room for the four of us...once we arranged our luggage and other belongings so that none of us were tripping over each other. The RV had a large fridge with a freezer, a stove top, microwave, AC and regular toilet (not the normal RV/airplane toilets). The shower was decent,,,,low head room if you are tall. There was a sign indicating that the hot water would only last 15 mins and would take 45 mins to heat up again, but we were able to have 3 of us shower back-to-back (maybe 10-15 mins inbetween) and had plenty of water.

We decided not to bring a lot of food, we didn't feel like cooking. The General Store on site has a lot to choose from if you want to cook a meal. We ate at the Beaver Brothers restaurant twice...large portions and very well priced. The food was excellent too! A lot of choices.

The amusement park was less than a 2 minute walk away, which was great. However the rides only had one set of cars, so the line ups for the rollar coasters were long. The waterpark was far more disappointing. The workers took a long time loading up the next group of people on the tubes for the slides. A number of slides were not even open. The lazy river was a disaster! They now allow people to swim, and childern were popping up all over the place getting pushed under by the tubes and peoples feet.....an accident waiting to happen! You are able to rent tubes, so you don'y have to wait in line for one...do this...it costs $8, but you get a $2 deposit back.

The concert was incredible! For campers there is a seperate enterance in the amusement park so you don't have to park in the main lot at the stage. Also when returning to the campground once the show was over, they open the amusement part gates to let you through.

Overall it was great! It was the first time I was there and well worth it. I can't wait to go back next year.

Room Tip: There was no fitness centre, that I was aware off...but a look of trails to walk/jog/run if you want...

Stayed in cabins first weekend in Aug . Would never rent an RV again after staying in cabin. We are a family of 5 there was plenty of space, we had the cabin with 2nd bedroom with bunk beds. Great location short walk to park. Cabin was very clean still smelled new. Only complaint was shower water temperature would go from scalding hot to freezing even though no one in cabin was running water which makes me think several of the cabins share hot water .queen bed in bedroom a little tight and poor quality mattress but all in all much more enjoyable stay than in RV. We have stayed at Darien lake 4 times now. Once in hotel, twice in RV and now in Cabin. Cabin was by far best option. Might check out guest houses next stay .

Just returned from a weekend at Darien Lake. It was a forth time there with the previous two in the last five years, always staying in the rental trailers. They have always been on the slightly dirty side, but this time was most definitely the worst ever. They are totally nasty and are in desperate need of a deep cleaning both inside and out. Both our air conditioner and our tub drain were completely plugged with 20 years of gunk rendering both fairly inoperable. Thankfully, the mattress on our bed seemed fairly new. It was comfortable and had no extra "features".

The park itself is in pretty good shape. Unlike the trailers, it seems to be getting cleaner over the years. We found the staff VERY friendly and helpful. Our only critique is that they should employ a two-train system for the major roller coasters, as they do with bigger parks, in order to keep the flow of riders moving more efficiently. As well, the washrooms in the park could use a bit more attention throughout the day. Other than that, the park was quite good. The convenience of the close proximity between the park and the campground is fantastic, but now that I am 40+ I am not sure I can stomach another year in those RVs, even for the sake of my kids.

We went to Darien lake at the end of June our second year in a row. The hotel was not what we expected, its like a forty year old comfort inn. The rooms are not that clean and really outdated. It seems like they have a young staff running the place and they don't have a clue what there doing, the pool was nice though. The amusement park its self is very nice, not busy so you get to ride things quiet often. overall its a nice place to take the family for a two day getaway!

We upgraded to a Cabin & i was glad we did! Everything you need from the kitchen, bedroom for the adults, bunk-beds & a loft! Porch with table to have breakfast or just hang out and they also had wifi which was very convenient.
Fire pit for night time fires & open area for the kids to play.
Close to the park as well.

This was our second trip to stay in the campground and visit the park, and our second time having a great experience. We rented one of the RVs to stay in and no major complaints. They are older and starting to show wear, but we had no issues with the cleanliness or maintenance. It looks like some renovations to the washrooms have been done since the last time we stayed, very nice new showers which was appreciated. We will definately be staying again as we had a wonderful time at the theme park and doing the camping experience. Only complaint would be the amount of items that you have to bring with you to camp, would be nice if some amenities were provided in the trailer (toaster, coffee maker, etc).

My girl friend and I went with my parents to Darien Lake for two nights at the start of August. My parents have a trailer so we rented a camp site and were on our way.

Darien Lake access from Canada is great, it is nice and easy to find. Access in to and around the camp ground is easy (30 foot trailer) and the sites give room to back your trailer in.

The camp sites arent bad, some are better than others. You get a big lot and some privacy, hyrdo/water and waste hook up. Dont forget the fire pit!

The washrooms were just OK. Not good, not bad, but bearable. Go to the washrooms closer to the cabins.

The distance from my door step to the amusement park was only a short walk away. We will say 3-5 minutes. We were such a short distance away that we would come and go mutiple times during the day and night.

Room Tip: You can walk into the park with your own drinks
