“Perfect for a Day Trip”
Reviewed September 11, 2012

While staying at Letchworth, we decided to drive over to Stony Brook for the day.

It was totally worth the drive. The main trail alongside the gorge was absolutely beautiful. I love how much access you have to the water---it's easy to just walk alongside and then walk into the water. If it's not a particularly warm day, be extra careful---the rocks are often slick and it's easy to fall in at times. We went at a time where the swimming area would be closed anyway but considering how amazing it looks, I hope they would open it in the future again.

“Beautiful views!”
Reviewed September 4, 2012

My first time at Stony Brook; it's gorgeous, the pool was closed, but we still had a great time! It was a family picnic and there was ample space for grilling, eating and hiking. I will definitely go back again!

“The swimming pool is closed this year”
Reviewed August 4, 2012

I just wanted those who are going to the park to enjoy the beautiful and refreshing natural pool formed by the gorge that according to the current message on the park's information line the pool is closed. The falls and park are lovely, but many go there for the pool,so just be aware.

“Amazing park with great views!”
Reviewed July 31, 2012

I go camping here every year with my in-laws and I have to say that this park is one of my favorite places to camp. There is no electric hook-up so it makes RV camping a little more difficult but it doesn't effect me as a tent camper.
The creek is a lot of fun for the family to play in, my son loves to throw rocks (just gotta make sure not to hit anyone!). It does get busy on the weekends, especially around the holidays. There is nothing better than putting a chair in the creek with your feet in the water and reading a good book. Very relaxing!
The hiking is really fun, the terrain is a lot of up and down stairs so keep that in mind. The waterfalls are gorgeous. This park doesn't get old. Love it!

“The little known jewel”
Reviewed July 27, 2012

This park is a narrow high canyon with a creek flowing at the bottom. At both ends, the creek is dammed to create a fresh, flowing water pool. A trail follows the creek, which features three falls. The trail at the top end of the canyon has two return trails on each side along the top. To do in the fall when the trees are gorgeous!
