Stayed here one night for family event. Well decorated and spacious room with full kitchen and large bathroom. Comfortable bed. Would have been nice to have a lamp next to both sides of the bed. Not a place for elderly as there are steep stairs to rooms and no elevator. Breakfast cafe across the street and two doors down.

This property is located in a small enclave that gives rise to mixed feelings. It's quaint. It has enormous potential. But it look like a little more revitalization is necessary. There's a wonderful park within walking distance right on the Hudson. There's the cutest library you ever saw right across the street. There are municipal-type businesses in the immediate area that bring plenty (but not too much) traffic to those couple of blocks. There's a really nice restaurant a block or two down the street. But it's clear that a few more "anchor" businesses in those couple of blocks could help the area. There is no feeling of not being safe. It's genuine small-town America. We loved it. And the Coxsackie Guest House was a surprise gem in the middle of it. I almost don't want to write this review because I want to keep it a secret. It's such a great value. We stayed in the Gazebo room. It's rustic and modern at the same time. It's unique. It's big. It's wonderful. We were there 3 nights and I wish it had been 7. Next time we'll stay longer. We were in town for a particular event but this property would be an excellent "hub" from which to explore from Albany to Poughkeepsie and equally distant points east and west. Book it. You won't be sorry. Delores will bend over backwards to accommodate your needs.

Room Tip: I can't imagine there's a bad room. We loved the Gazebo with the view of the Hudson.

At first glance, this appeared to be a real "sleeper" but the guest rooms are INCREDIBLE!!! after 9 days of travelling this was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. The room was so big you could have had a school dance in it. All the furnishings are tasteful and high quality, even the 42" flat screen TV. Loved the full size kitchen and the large shower. If you get a chance to talk to Delores you can hear the history of the area, she was great too. Overall a really great experience. (PS you have to check out Chrissy's Diner in town for breakfast too!)

Room Tip: They roll the streets up at 6PM so get here early so you can see the neighborhood. It's fantasti...

Just spent two days at the Coxsackie Guest House and what a geat place to stay. Delores (the caretaker of the faciity) was Great!. This is like an efficiency for the price of an OK hotel. I's is clean, well decorated and within driving distance of all the major attractions in the Catskills. This was my husbands second stay but only first and he was absolutely correct when he said how nice it was. It has charm along with all the amenities of home. Pass on the hotel and give Delores a call....trust me you wont regret it. Also..if you want to cook in your room thats great, they have all necessary equipment (pots pans etc) but you if you dont feel like cooking check out the breakfast diner across the street, you wont be disappointed.

Room Tip: Some rooms have a view of the Hudson River. When booking ask to see if one is available.

We recently had the opportunity to visit Coxsackie, NY and found a "home away from home" at the Coxsackie Guest House. A renovated building, there are four spacious rooms completed last February. Each unit contains a kitchen, living space, bedroom and bathroom comfortably furnished and well equipped. The rental agent, Dolores is so pleasant and so accomodating. It was Christmas eve and we couldn't find the key so we called her and she helped us locate it. The rooms were warm (even though there was a raging blizzard outdoors) and not drafty. The view of the Hudson River was great. I highly recommend when in that area you check out the guest house. I hope I don't find myself out of a place to stay because of overwhelming demand.

A memorable stay! We kayaked into town from way down river one Sunday night this past summer. We needed a place very near the water, since we had to carry our kayak and supplies to our room for safekeeping. The Coxsackie Guest House was PERFECT! Because it was Sunday, the nice restaurant near the water was closed, so "Dolores" gave us a ride to a nearby grocery so we could get something to eat! Unbelievable empathy and just plain nice! Finally, our room was really great! Nice view, tremendous amenities (e.g., full modern kitchen, plenty of room, luxurious bathroom and bed, ceiling fan, and large flat-screen TV). Bright and airy accommodations -- very attractive and intriguing set-up -- and very centrally located within a football field from the Hudson River and Coxsackie's nice public dock. Can't praise it enough -- especially if you're traveling the Hudson and looking for a night on land!
