“Good Hotel Off of 1-81”
Reviewed October 31, 2013

We stayed here for one night while traveling to upstate New York. The hotel is right off the highway and connected to a Denny's Restaurant. Several other hotels are in this complex. SUNY Cortland is located in town. The hotel is well maintained as are the rooms. I believe they have recently been renovated. We were given an upgrade to a king suite. It was a nice sized large room with a comfortable bed, sititng area, adequate bathroom and even a refrigerator. We later learned all rooms have a refrigerator. Staff were very friendly and accomodating. We had read about a restaurant on tripadvisor named Amelia's located in town and were assured the food was great and given great directions. We enjoyed this tavern like restaurant for dinner as the staff and food were great. We didn't eat breakfast there the next day as it was over at 9 o'clock and we slept in. We opted instead to walk through the connecting hallway to Denny's and had a good breakfast there. The only downside to our stay is that the hotel is directly off Rte 81 and it was somewhat noisy due to passing traffic. We would stay here again if we were passing through.

Room Tip: Ask for a room towards the back away from the highway to block out some of the traffic from the high...

Very nice hotel, quiet and clean. If my wife is satisfied, it must be clean. Comfortable bed, good bathroom. Breakfast included eggs, bacon, waffles, the usual bagels and toast, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, juice, coffee. It is connected to the Perkins Restaurant with an enclosed hallway. Very convenient. Two minor complaints. The street coming in is very bumpy as other reviews mentioned. Not the hotels fault, but the town or city. Also the water pressure was very strong in the shower. But better than very low pressure. We would definitely stay there again. Very nice hotel.

We stayed here on our way to NY going from Niagar. Location is excellent. Right on highway perhaps that is the reason they are charging more then they should.
I have rated it poor simply for the fact that we found bugs in the room not one but three. My son can`t tolerate the presence of bugs so it was very incovenient night for us.
Breakfast was good. Counter staff both in the evening and in the morning were supportive.
With certain focus on renovation and cleanliness they could earn good score.

Just got back from a trip to the Cortland area. Wanted just to get away to the beautiful Finger Lakes area. Booked this hotel through Priceline for a very reasonable rate so I did not expect anything exceptional. I was pleasantly surprised. I would rate this hotel as very good as it was clean, breakfast was great, and the property was remodeled inside. No pool, but the kids were not with us so it wasn't as pressing. On the whole, nice place to stay and a great value.

Easy access off the interstate. As stated in other reviews, the entrance road is rough, but doesn’t appear to be part of their property. Check in was very fast, taking less than a minute. Every time I went past the desk the receptionist was on her cell, but she would immediately put it down and speak to me.

The hall carpet was worn a. Room furniture and décor were “modern.” Furnishings included two double beds, sitting chair, lamps, desk with office chair, fridge, microwave, flat TV and clock radio. Four pillows were provided with each bed. Linens appeared clean, but worn. From habit we do a bug check in all rooms. Found no sign of current or past problems. An iron and ironing board is provided. The bathroom has a single sink. Lots of hot water was available. The entire front of the countertop had been pulled off. It was not in the room, so I assume repairs were underway.

I used the internet in the lobby and my room. Sign in was easy and the signal was good. However it seemed to throw me off every hour. You could sign right back in, but it was disconcerting the first time it happened.

Breakfast was very good and included two juices, two grades of milk, hot cereal, three kinds of cold cereal, muffins, bagels, bread, donuts, three kinds of fruit, yogurt, two flavors of make your own waffles, bacon, scrambled eggs and hard boiled eggs. Coffee and hot chocolate were also available. A dedicated food service staff kept things well stocked.

The facility does not have a pool. The exercise room has four pieces of equipment.

In general it was what we expected, with an above average breakfast. Would stay here again without question.

Stopped for an overnight here on our way back to Canada. Hotel is conveniently located off the interstate and has been recently redone. Our room was larger than standard and very clean, with the exception of the tub which looks leftover from the 1980s: dingy, dull and stained. Beds were comfortable but the heating/cooling unit was very noisy, emitting loud ticking noises when warming up. It woke me up several times. The lobby is pleasant with a fireplace and sitting area for breakfast. Breakfast is the standard - hot & cold cereals, bread and pastries, egg and sausage, juice & coffee, fruit. Wi-fi works well. Front desk staff is friendly and helpful. Good value here.

This is the second time my husband and I had to find a room along I-81 because of adverse weather conditions. Every time, we have received a comfortable room, clean and with a Perkins restaurant on site. Front desk guy let me use his cell phone to find out my points balance to see if I had enough for a free room. Was short a few points, but he gave me a fantastic rate. Mind you its not a 5 star hotel, but has everything we needed, and will be sure to be back again. Cleaner than the Hampton we stayed at years ago! Carpeting was spotless, bathrooms clean and a fridge in every room.

Room Tip: We appreciate that they still have smoking rooms, and they are located on the 2nd floor away from th...
