This place is actually 3 museums all rolled into one. My wife and I expected to only spend about an hour total but found ourselves so thoroughly engaged after 2 1/2 hours that we ran out of time and never made it to the last building. It would be easy for an entire family to spend an entire morning or afternoon here. I think the displays were designed to have appeal for children and adults as it was certainly easy to get up close to inspect things. The collections go far beyond the local histories of Homer and Cortland. For example the Homeville Museum displays military artifacts from several wars and includes items from both American and foreign armies. There is also a large model train collection (working). The Brockway Truck museum displays the proud history of America's toughest truck. In its day Brockway Trucks had global distribution.
This place is easy to find just off Rt 81, near Homer NY.
