While overnight in Corning, New York I visited and had dinner at the Atlas Brick Oven Pizza restaurant. It was kind of a step back in time place without all the bells and whistles you find in the more current pizza places. A small storefront similar to what I saw in the North End in Boston. There were only four tables at the front and a food bar with stools where you can watch the cooks make your pizza before placing it into the brick ovens at the far end of the bar.
It was a Tuesday evening and yet, there were four cooks and two very pleasant waitresses, all of which were very personable and efficient. I had the cheesesticks (yummy!) and ordered a small multi-cheese and sausage pizza. Being from the Chicago area, I am very finnicky about pizza but I will say it was tasty. As usual, in New York they cut in wedges where back home almost all pizza are cut in squares. Upstairs was a full bar and very nice atmosphere.
All-in-all it was a good choice for dinner. Try it if you ever get to Corning.
