While walking on the lovely downtown Market Street taking in the shops, we noticed large brewing tanks in the front window of a restaurant and decided to check it out. We went in and took a seat at the bar where we were warmly welcomed. The bartender explained that all the draft beer was brewed on site and today they had a choice of five different choices, a blackberry inspired beer, an IPA, a traditional lager, a red beer and a dark beer. The beers all had fun kitschy names and since we were not driving, we decided to stay a bit and between the two of us, try them all. I absolutely loved the blackberry inspired beer, but they were all terrific! The menu was not typical bar/roadhouse fair, although some of the favorites were available, like wings and burgers. Also available were true chef inspired soups, creative salads, and intriguing things like sushi nacho's, which we didn't have but heard from other patrons were amazing. We frequented the Market Street Brewing Company twice during our trip and enjoyed it both times, it felt like a neighborhood bar with an upscale menu! We happened in both days during happy hour where pints were only $2.50 and the food was delicious and affordable. After enjoying the many stores and sites in Corning, don't forget to stop in to the Market Street Brewing Company!
