“Great Location for family lunch”
Reviewed July 6, 2011

We were visiting family in Syracuse and decided to visit Corning Glass Museum. I searched on Trip Advisor for the best place to eat. We decided to visit Market Street Brewing Company. It was great! The meal was great for all our families whose ages range from 5 to 65. It's located in downtown Corning, which gives it a great atmosphere. We highly recommend it.

“Nice outdoor dining in Corning. Ok service.”
Reviewed June 20, 2011

We stopped by this restaurant after a full day in Corning Glass Museum and before continuing our road trip. I've picked this restaurant in advance based on recommendations here. Overall i would recommend it for a light dinner and beer, if you happen to be in the area.

You can sit outside, right next to the main street and a pretty fountain. The outdoor sitting has a nice ambiance.

The food was mostly good. The highlight of the dishes was Pork Osso Bucco - tender and juicy with meat falling off the bone.
We also had some MSBC soup which was hot and well-seasoned. The bread was fresh with crispy crust. Our appetizers of smoked salmon cream cheese spread was also very good, as was my buffalo chicken wrap.

The burger was only ok (below par in my opinion). Strangely, the two potato dishes we tried were just dreadful! The mashed potato tasted like they came out of the box, and had a weird texture. The potato salad (comes as a choice with your food) also tasted old, and lacked flavor of any sort except vinegar.

Service was below par too. Our waiter was having a bad day, and though he apologized profusely (pretty much all night he did something to apologize for), and gave us complimentary ice-cream, the night was somewhat spoiled.

Bottom line - stay away from potato dishes, hope for a good waiter and enjoy your delicious beer and osso bucco outdoors !

“Excellent experience”
Reviewed June 10, 2011

The service is excellent. The food is very good and they are willing to accommodate individual tastes regarding seasoning etc. Good atmosphere. We have been there twice this week and we will be there again when next we are in Corning.

“Excellent Food and Service”
Reviewed May 24, 2011

We have eaten here annually for the past several years. I can only echo the very positive comments by previous reviews. The micro-brews are excellent, as are the food items on the menu. The portions are generally huge, so I would recommend ordering conservatively. The prices are extremely reasonable.

The interior seating is rather dark and gloomy, so I would recommend the outdoor patio seating if weather permits. However, I did notice the outdoor seating was equipped with "eisenglass curtains you can roll right down, in case there's a change in the weather," with due credit to Rodgers and Hammerstein.

In general, I have found the mostly female waitstaff to be very friendly and efficient, although this time around, we drew a rather loud-mouthed waiter named Wally whose manner was rather off-putting if not downright offensive. I suspect he won't last long in this line of work.

“Returned second night”
Reviewed May 15, 2011

My wife and I were traveling through the Finger Lakes of New York. We stayed overnight in Corning and decided to go to dinner at the Market Street Brewing Company. The food was great, the beer was great, and the service was excellent. We enjoyed it so much we went back the next night and had the same waitress, Dani who remembered us and who made us feel like we were regulars. We moved on the next day but wished we could have taken the restaurant with us. We highly recommend this place.
