This little italian restaurant came to us by way of a recommendation. Since my husband and I are both chefs... we always ask about the little independent places. We get so tired of the chains. Even though there were litterally 50 chain restaurants within a 5 mile radius... we were told to drive 15 minutes away to Sorges. So... after visiting the Corning Musuem of Glass (an absolute MUST do.) we went to Sorges. This little restaurant is very unpretentious. We were told that it burned down three years ago... and the towns people were so upset that their favorite spot was gone that the community raise some $50,000 to aid in the rebuilding. I can see why. Homemade pasta... the Ravioli was delicious. The minute we sat down we were offered a sample of a locally featured wine. I had a vanilla sherry that was out of this world. Lots of seafood offerings, creative pasta, and steaks. Try the panco breaded artichoke hearts with marinara. Yummy.
