We've stayed in lots of different hotels, B&Bs, etc. but this is our first time at a Staybridge.
If you've been in others chains before, a lot of this hotel will seem familiar. You've seen it elsewhere.
However, this location really had it all together. Check in was quick and easy and the first impression is that the hotel is smaller than it really is.
Then, leaving the front desk takes you past the large high ceilinged breakfast/lounge area. The elevators are placed in two weird locations in the rear of the wings of the hotel, a long walk, but once you have humped your things to your room, you'll start using the stairs which makes getting around much simpler.
We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite and it was pretty good. Not as big as we might have liked but good enough. That really could be the tag line for this franchise...not the best but pretty darn good just the same.
The full kitchen was convenient and well equipped. The bathrooms were decent size and towels and bath products fine. The beds were comfortable and overall we found our room to be pretty quiet though more soundproofing would have been nice.
There was enough parking but get there later on a full night and you'll drive around a bit looking for a spot. Again, nothing done to excess, just what you need.
We stayed 4 days over a long weekend and you find out that over the weekend you have to request light housekeeping if you want beds made or towels replaced. First time I've run into this.
Breakfasts in the morning offer a full variety of choices from fruits and yogurts to hot oatmeal (a bit watery) the usual packaged eggs, bacon, and sausage along with do it yourself waffles and cold cereals. Never a problem getting a table while we were there either. Kudos to breakfast ladies for keeping everything well stocked ( just add less water to the oatmeal please).
There is a large pool room and spa which has a roomy high ceiling making it quite pleasant to enjoy. The central courtyard is lovely with a couple of gas barbeques for guest use in nice weather which is nice. The exercise room shares its space with the free laundry room. As long as you like treadmills it's okay, not much else to exercise on but equipment there was in good shape. The laundry had three washers and dryers and there is no charge for using them which is a nice touch. We used them twice during our short stay and had no problems( bring your own laundry soap).
Overall, we were very pleased with our Staybridge visit and when back in the area will definitely look to book there again.

When making the reservation, I goofed on the dates and had to re-book; as there were no single queen suites available, I had to upgrade, for $5, to a double suite (three rooms total), which was fantastic. The hotel is new, the rooms/suites ample and gorgeous, and we wished we had booked for two nights as it was so pleasant. The kitchenette/dining/TV area in the suite was great and a good place to relax. The front desk staff were extremely accommodating, showing us their favorite places to eat, from which we chose one. The free breakfast was tasty and ample. We would definitely go back.

We planned to visit Watkins Glen, NY, but we couldn't find any accommodation in the city, so I decided to get something a little be away.

This hotel feels like upscale. The room was awesome, kitchenette, freezer, microwave... perfect surprise. Very clean and new furnitures.

The locations was just about 20mins to Watkins park and it is located on the highway exit to the park. Actually it was better to stay there, because we had more options for dinner.

The breakfast was good and the service was decent. The only bad surprise was the fee for the dog, too expensive from what we used to pay in the other hotels in the same category, but it was worth!

Not knowing the area, this was our best choice, it was a short walk to the glass museum, this was the reason we came to this quant town. We also walked to a great restaurant over the bridge. The place was clean and quiet. It made sense to us and I would do it again, also close to the roadway for us to continue our trip.

I ran the Windglass for the first time last year and noted the location of the Staybridge. Only a short walk to the Expo and to the busses on race morning. I made my reservations early for this year and will make next year's as soon as I can. This is the perfect location and a great facility. Very quiet. Even on race morning when almost everyone was up and about there was NO room to room noise and only the loudest revelers could be heard from the hallway.
The staff made a special effort to have a limited breakfast available early for the runners, an unexpected and very thoughtful amenity. At other races it is becoming the norm for hotels to require a 2 night or even a 3 night minimum stay for the event weekend. It was very nice to discover that the Staybridge has not followed this trend.

Room Tip: There are no bad room at a Staybridge
