The Inn at Cooperstown is wonderful.

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Sep 26, 2007
For many years, I had dreamed of visiting Cooperstown, NY. I finally made it there last week and the visit was very enjoyable due in no small measure to the great experience I had at The Inn at Cooperstown. Marc Kingsley and his staff are very gracious hosts. The Inn is located one block off Main Street within a 5 minute walk to anywhere in the Village. You will love your stay at the historic Inn at Cooperstown.

Spent two days in wonderful Cooperstown and this Inn made for a perfect get-away. Clean, comfortable and a wonderful staff. The breakfast was super. Witnin walking distance of everything. After a very bad experience in another Inn we were reluctant to book in. No doubt we will be returning.

We recently visited Cooperstown and stayed at the Inn at Cooperstown. We really enjoyed our stay, and felt right at home in this wonderful Victorian. We had a large corner room with a very large bathroom. Breakfast was basically continental with a warm quiche. The location was right in town and within walking distance of the Hall of Fame (and the Fennimore Art Museum for those who enjoy walking.)

We just returned from 2 nights at the Inn at Cooperstown and we cannot say enough about this inn. It is spotless, the rooms are good sized, the bed comfortable and breakfast is wonderful. There are many rockers on the front porch, which is a great spot to take tea and cookies in the afternoon and watch the world go by. You can see Main Street from the porch, that's how close to town the Inn at Cooperstown is, without actually being right on Main St., which we think is a good thing. We even met several guests who have been coming for years to the inn. They try to stay in the same room and recognized changes to their rooms such as a new chair or a picture on the wall.

The ENTIRE staff is very welcoming, after being there for about 1 hour, we truly felt as if we were home, we can't wait to return.

Sometimes you need to just get-a-way from it all. Might we suggest The Inn at Cooperstown for this adventure?

Arriving road travelers are greeted by accommodations that embrace welcome. After a quick tour of the Inn, keys to a plush room and directions to refreshment opportunities, we had no choice but to begin to feel rejuvenated.

From the evening social hour - to breakfast- to the lazy Sunday morning reading on the large porch, we were pleasantly surprised by how the Inn was able to transform our sense of being – quiet us and relax us into a wonderful weekend.

In our opinion, the Inn is beyond five stars. We hope you will think so too.

We initially planned on staying here for the "Bike and Brew" package. This involved a 25 mile bike ride, a tour of the Ommegang brewery and a fancy dinner. When unfortunate circumstances forced the tour to be cancelled, Mark, the owner of the Inn went out of his way to make us still have a great trip.

We were welcomed with a sampler pack of Ommegang beer. And let me tell you, it was absolutely delicious having that beer while sitting on the porch of the Inn in one of the many rocking chairs. The next morning, Mark joined us for a ride around the very scenic Cooperstown area. It was lovely.

Speaking of Cooperstown, we loved the town! There is a Main street with some really excellent restaurants, (The Cooperstown Inn is just around the corner from this, perfect walking distance) In addition, the Inn is walking distance to the lake providing many scenic views, beaches, and even kayaking opportunities. Not to mention, you can easily walk to the baseball hall of fame from the inn!

Overall, we found the Inn at Cooperstown was the perfect place to stay. The room was immaculate and the staff was always courteous, knowledgable and willing to assist us find whatever we were looking for. We look forward to returning to the Inn at Cooperstown soon.
