Our family was staying at the Otesaga as part of a trip to the Dreams Field baseball tournament. Ages ran from 8 to 80. Although I am not normally a fan of hotel dinning rooms (last good one I had been in was the Green Room at Hotel DuPont) we decided to dine in the Hawkeye to take advantage of the spectacular view. On the first night of our visit a large storm forced us inside rather than the patio but the room was pleasant enough (it is really a tavern set up - if you want fancy you should try the main dinning room). The service was punctual without being down our throats and very pleasant. In all, it was well paced service. The food was enjoyed by all eight of the party - the choices included selections from the fish entrees, meat and two lobster risotto (which was fantastic). All of the dinners came with a small salad.
As to value, I found the prices to be reasonable when compared to similar venues. I find too often that reviewers are comparing the cost of a meal to that which they pay at their local pizza place - its not the same.
As a compliment to the restaurant, we returned the following evening for dinner, this time the weather cooperated and we enjoyed dinning on the terrace
