Our family has stayed at John and Linda's B&B many times. We are always greeted with a warm smile and and Linda's famous baked goods. When in town for just a night or for the week they can spout off enough entertainment to keep you busy all day long.

The rooms are homely and comfortable. The common room downstairs is a great place to meet other travelers or families. They have several board games and a TV for entertainment.

I also have to say that the breakfast is Wonderful! The buffet line up has numerous options to satisfy anyone. John will make you any type of Eggs to go with your breakfast and they are outstanding! Nothing better than starting your day with a good meal.

This is the only place we stay when we come to Cooperstown and there isn't any reason to go elsewhere.

We have stayed at B&B's without and now with children. This was one of our best experiences yet. The hosts were the best. The room was lovely and comfortable. Snacks were available around the clock ( a fav of hubbie and the kids). The location was walkable to town. The kids met a new friend and they want to go back next year. What more could you ask for. Oh they gave us snacks for the trip home!!!

After graduating our daughter from college, we did not want to leave NY without visiting Cooperstown. Linda and John were our "Angels in disguise." That evening Linda brought home made cookies and milk to our tired graduate. The next morning they not only fixed a delicious breakfast for us, but they allowed our daughter to sleep in and treated her to breakfast hours later. After spending the day at the Hall of Fame, we came back to say Good-Bye, only to be given a plate full of homemade goodies for the road! Cannot say enough about this wonderful couple and their beautiful B&B!

What an inviting experience to stay at John & Linda Smirk's B & B in Cooperstown! This was my first time to Cooperstown and to a B &B AND I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND this Bed & Breakfast.

Hosts: From the very first phone call to the last call before our trip, John & Linda were so wonderful in helping us book the reservation, providing constant suggestions on where to visit and eat. When my boyfriend and I arrived, they greeted us warmly and helped us get settled into our room within minutes. The inn is a speculator Victorian-style home with many amentities!! Our room was on the top floor, the bed was extremely comfortable and quiet with a nice spacious bathroom. Even though the inn was booked to capacity, our floor was quiet and the room was always extremely clean. The house has a lovely balcony on the second floor to grab a cup of coffee and sit outside to enjoy some fresh air.

The food: And Linda's homebaked goods were divne--loved the snickerdoodle cookies and cinnamon buns plus my boyfriend swore by her cream pies! Plus Linda was so kind to send us home with a plate "to go", which was much better than any baked goods we had in the "continential breakfasts" at regular hotels. Breakfast was delicious and it was fun chatting with the other guests in a relaxed, but elegant setting in the dining room (beautiful dutch-blue plates). What was even more nice was the fact that any time of the day, we could get coffee or tea. They always had fresh coffee brewing plus a Keurig just in case guests wanted a different coffee option. There were always baked goods available to take with you or to enjoy with the coffee.

Location: This B &B was close enough to the main drag near the Museums downtown, so you could choose to walk to and from each day. Plus the B &B was close by major routes to travel to other destinations, like the Apple Cider Mill--definitely a must for families or for anyone interested in nice apple cider plus there is a alcohol hard cider option. Felt very safe and at home during our entire visit to Cooperstown.

We would definitely visit them again in early Spring 2011. Thank you again for a wonderful, relaxing experience.

It felt like home, but with so many extras!! Our room was very comfortable, and quiet with a nice spacious bath. John & Linda were great hosts, giving us a lot of helpful tips and advice on where to go in Cooperstown. And Linda's deserts were divne! We were sure we'd go into "withdrawal" after leaving without her freshly baked cookies in the afternoon. But she sent us with a plate "to go", which was much better than any baked goods we had in the "continential breakfasts" at regular hotels. Breakfast was delicious and it was fun chatting with the other guests in a relaxed, but elegant setting in the dining room. We were close enough to downtown to get in a good walk each day. Felt very safe and at home during our entire visit to Cooperstown. We would definitely visit them again!

This was our first experience at a B&B and we loved it, even with two young kids. John and Linda were great hosts, and the location was perfect, with the trolley stopping right in front of the house. Kids loved the bunk beds and the dog, McKenzie. We had a great breakfast prepared for us each morning, along with fresh baked snacks/desserts available throughout the day and evening. We would definately recommend staying at Cooperstown B&B when visiting Cooperstown and the Baseball Hall of Fame.
