“owner rude-tried to sneak fees on my bill!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 9, 2013

Had a great week with my son in Cooperstown for his 12u baseball team except for a meal at both back alley grill and Cooperstown diner. The reason I mention both restaurants is that in both instances each restaurant tried to "sneak" fees on my bill! Turns out both are owned by the same woman who is rude and has no customer service skills! Cooperstown is such a pleasant and quaint small town ,just unfortunate of this unpleasant experience. My advice is to go to Doubleday café, the local bakery on the corner as well as the omme gang local beer brewery. Also, the otesago hotel restaurant (east walk from downtown main St) has a great view, great food and reasonable prices. So, consider yourself warned about back alley grill and the Cooperstown diner.....

“Perfect for Cooperstown”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 29, 2013

The tiny, throwback Cooperstown Diner seemed to fit right in with Cooperstown - a typical, yet atypical - small town. Not many small towns feature a national gem like the Baseball Hall of Fame or have 90% of the downtown retail stores baseball-related. However, the diner fits in perfectly on the two-lane, tree-lined main thoroughfare. My brother and I tried it for breakfast one morning and were so pleased that we came back the next morning, too. The diner breakfast fare was plentiful and hit the spot. We got the last two seats (sat at the counter both days) our first day and the waitress was slammed, although efficient. It wasn't quite as crazy the second morning and our new waitress was convivial and conversational. All in all, a nice experience.

“Tiny Diner Comes Up Big!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 8, 2013

Went for breakfast last Saturday & Sunday.Great food, great service, great atmosphere & very reasonable prices. Tiniest diner I ever saw. Half a dozen or so tables & @10 counter seats. If you have to wait it would be well worth it. I only regret I didn't have a chance to chow down on their $5.49 13 ounce burger. That's right...13 ounces for $5.49! Oh well, Maybe next time.
