We dined here based on the recommendations from the hotel staff where we were staying.

Restaurant interior was shabby and waiter while pleasant was lost in space. The salad bar was ordinary (being generous). My wife's trout was "fishy", and my fish and chips pedestrian. Did not stay for dessert or coffee.

I ordered a shrimp scampi dinner that was absolutely tasteless. No flavor - at $30.00 most of it went uneaten. My husband had a prime rib marsala that was very good, also $30.00 - I helped him with his. The waiter did offer to bring me something else, which was nice of him but we had enough with sharing my husbands meal. We still had to pay for both of course. They do have a large room for big groups, but not price friendly.
Cooperstown needs a big pizza parlor that can accomodate teams. This place has the room but not the right menu for kids.

Mediocre meal. Salad bar was pretty decent but the rest was fair. Waitress was decent but not very happy to be there...

We were unsure whether to go based on the reviews. Our hotel said we could get a free wine or beer if we showed our guest key, so we figured what the heck. We thought we might get a hassle over that, but no, we were cheerfully served a free drink each -house wine or beer, but it was very good. Four of us had decent meals and a very sweet and helpful young fellow who served us. He was wonderful ! One of the party ordered a rare steak and it was not warm enough .. probably not the restaurants fault to be honest, rare and warm is tricky ! They took it right back out with apologies and it came back to his satisfaction. Cheesecake was tiny, but we'd had a decent meal so did not complain. We found the glass enclosure very acceptable on a nice Spring evening. We actually had a much better meal at this modest priced restaurant than we did at the fancy dancy place in the humongous Inn outside of town !

Myself and two family member made a weekend of it by going to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. Our hotel recommended the Peppermill Restaurant located close by. We pulled into the parking lot at 645pm and we were seated within five minutes, with our order placed shortly thereafter. Well by 8pm, we felt that we had waited long enough for uncomplicated orders and addressed the waitress. Her response was that they had a large group in the other room. We looked around and realized that people who came in before us were still sitting waiting for food. By 8:10pm we spoke to the manager, who was not especially apologetic and left this so called food establishment., without being served a morsel of food. Be careful, this place reeks of being a tourist trap, since 95% of the clientele seemed to be out of towners visiting the hall of fame. It appears that the majority of eating places in cooperstown are on the expensive side, there is not alot to choose from.
