We took a bus trip to the Baseball Hall of Fame over Memorial Day weekend, and after enjoying our time at the HOF decided to walk down toward the lake and take some pictures there. We came across the Lake Front Inn, and decided to go in for drinks and possibly a snack. Once we saw the menu, we revised our plans and decided to have an early dinner instead. That was the right move!

The Lake Front Inn has a lovely view of Lake Otsego (windows line 2 walls of the place), and the overall ambience is casual and pleasant. It's fairly small, but plenty of seating was available for walk-in guests during the late afternoon hours. Another feature of the establishment is the bar area that is covered by mosaic tiles in lake-inspired colors. Beautiful!!

Our waitress was great, very friendly and attentive. The menu offered a good selection in terms of appetizers, soups, sandwiches, burgers, entrees, and desserts. Much of it I would describe as "basic fare with a flare"... For example, I ordered the "BBQ Shrimp BLT" where they took the basic fare of a Bacon/Lettuce/Tomato sandwich and added a generous portion of shrimp that had been marinated in a KC BBQ sauce -- a very tasty twist!

The restaurant is in close proximity to the Basball Hall of Fame. It only took about 5 minutes to walk there from the HOF at a leisurely pace.

In contrast with our very disappointing lunch at Sal's Pizza earlier in the day, the Lake Front Inn was substantially better in every regard. If we return to Cooperstown we are very likely to return to the Lake Front Inn.

We live in Cocoa Beach Florida 6 months and near Cooperstown New York for 6 months. This past Sunday we stopped by the Lake Front Restaurant for our first outing back in New York. We asked what the soup of the day was - Seafood Chowder. The soup was the best I have ever eaten. No joke. The proprietor of the restaurant was there I told him how much I enjoyed the soup. In passing, I asked him if I could have the recipe. He said why don't you ask the chef. The chef came out and brought out the list of ingredients. How nice was that!

I would recommend this restaurant with an excellent rating!

Wonderful setting by Otsego Lake, gorgeous view. Food was excellent! They do not "cheap out" on the cuts of meat and seafood used, and offer lots of fresh, in-season veggies. Highly recommend this restaurant with its CIA (Culinary Institute) chef. Heard they have music on the weekends....will definitely go back.

This was one of 2 places opened near the Baseball Hall of Fame opened in October. Food was good - nice sandwiches and soups. Only one waitress to run the whole place and she was running non-stop. We did wait a while for our food, but not that long. We recommend this place after a game at Doubleday Field.
