Visiting Cooperstown over the Labor Day weekend, we expected to pay too much for mediocre food. Fortunately, the host at our B&B suggested Toscana and we were delighted that she did. The food was very good, the prices were surprisingly modest, and the service was exceptional. Moreover, the restaurant could not be more convenient for Hall of Fame visitors -- it is located directly across the street -- so visitors can duck out of the Hall of Fame and grab a very good meal and then quickly get back to the business of immersing themselves in baseball lore. We liked our dinner there so much that we went back for lunch on the following day just before leaving Cooperstown.
