Description: Ommegang is hard to pronounce but easy to find. Located just five miles south of Cooperstown, NY, our farmstead brewery is open year-round for daily tours and tastings. An intimate walking tour puts you right on the brew floor amidst the sights and sounds of brewing in action. Our tour guides will help you discover how superior ingredients and time-honored methods like open fermentation and warm cellaring produce better tasting beer. But don't take our word for it, taste them for yourself. In addition to free tours, inexpensive tastings of six of our award-winning ales are available. Afterwards, stay for a meal at Cafe Ommegang and shop in the brewery store. Ommegang has special events all year long, including the "Belgium Comes to Cooperstown" beer festival in August and a summer concert series. Handicapped parking, entry and toilets available. Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Years Day, and also for occasional special events. Closures are listed on website.

“Brewery Ommegang - Great Fun”
Reviewed June 17, 2013

First of all this review is for the atmosphere and tasting only - we did not eat at brewery ommegang.

We arrived at 2:10pm. The next available tour was 3:30; the next available tasting was 2:30. We signed up for the tasting and did not do the tour.

As for the tasting, the tasting room had about 30 people and 2 bartenders so it moved quickly. The bartenders were good at explaining the beers and answering questions. The beers were all ommegang quality so that was good. You get to keep the approx 3oz tasting glass. Overall we had a great time so I would tell anybody in the cooperstown area to check out Ommegang!

“interesting tour, great food, even better beer”
Reviewed June 14, 2013

signage is not a big thing in the area; had to turn around once, but glad we did. The tour was short and interesting. The food in the cafe was great-try the moules and frites (mussels and fries) and the crepes. The beer is delicious!

“Terrific beer and food too!”
Reviewed June 11, 2013

I'm a big fan of the Ommegang beers so visiting the brewery while in town to see the baseball HOF was a priority. To our surprise and the brewery has a cafe on the premises which came in handy to have a bite to eat before sampling the tasty beer. The beer is excellent and worth the very short drive from Cooperstown to visit.

“Belgian style food and beer”
Reviewed June 10, 2013

We have been coming to Ommegang for the past few years and have watched it grow over this period. We have done the tour 3 or 4 times, and didn't feel the need to do it this time. We have never eaten in their restaurant before and decided to give it a go. The food is all belgian inspired, proper frites, crepes, moules, etc. We had the frites, cheese and spinach crepes and the lamb sliders. The frites come with a delicious choice of their sauces, such as truffle and soy mayo and cumin flavoured ketchup. The lamb sliders were amazing, slow cooked lamb in their 3 philosophers beer. I will definitely be going back for these.
We sat at the bar to eat, as the restaurant was full of people. We got to see all the fantastic beers they have. The have pretty much everything from the duvel family of beers. My personal favourite being chouffe. It was quite funny at one point, this biker looking bloke came up to the bar and asked for a bud!! I think the irony was lost on him.
