Description: Ommegang is hard to pronounce but easy to find. Located just five miles south of Cooperstown, NY, our farmstead brewery is open year-round for daily tours and tastings. An intimate walking tour puts you right on the brew floor amidst the sights and sounds of brewing in action. Our tour guides will help you discover how superior ingredients and time-honored methods like open fermentation and warm cellaring produce better tasting beer. But don't take our word for it, taste them for yourself. In addition to free tours, inexpensive tastings of six of our award-winning ales are available. Afterwards, stay for a meal at Cafe Ommegang and shop in the brewery store. Ommegang has special events all year long, including the "Belgium Comes to Cooperstown" beer festival in August and a summer concert series. Handicapped parking, entry and toilets available. Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Years Day, and also for occasional special events. Closures and tour hours are listed on website.

Ommegang is a ton of fun, but their success has been their own worst enemy. We were there during a slow weekend in the Spring, and we were not able to get a spot on a brewery tour, and due to demand, their tastings are limited to 25 people and lightning fast! So my recommendation would be book a tour in advance, and while I would definitely do the tasting, give yourself some time to sit outside on the patio and savor their delicious brews.

Also, be aware that they are not open for dinner -- they close at 5pm!

From the laid back and warm welcome to the interesting and informative tour (thanks Alex!) Ommegang is a must see when in the Cooperstown area. They offer a fun (and not stuffy at all!) tasting of several of their brews (again - thanks Alex!) They have a restaurant that offers delicious and innovative dishes. The tour allows you to see first hand how the "devils brew" is made. They have a nice patio area to relax with a pint of your choice and the gift shop to meet all your Ommegang goodie needs. Love that these guys got the nod fromGame of Thrones. Hoping the next one is "Wolf's Head" or something to do with the Stark clan. Such a great day - cant wait to come back. Thank you all

Just great place, although with the bridge out, slightly more difficult to find on the route we traveled. If you are a beer person, or even if you're not, this is just a great place to visit. We didn't go on the tour, mainly came for the beer and food, did I mention I love beer!!!!

We tasted everything they had on tap and loved them all, even my non-beer loving husband liked most (bet you thought I was a guy, right:-), chicks also love good beer !!! Food was awesome, cheese plate was excellent as was the onion soup. Also tried a ham and cheese crepe that was very rich and very good. A few miles outside the main area of cooperstown and the hall but well worth the drive.

My boyfriend and I went to ommegang brewery for a little weekend getaway as it is a favorite for both of us. When we first got there, parking was a bit of an issue, but we were lucky someone was pulling out(plus we didn't get there til like 1pm on a Saturday). Since it was just the 2 of us we were able to hop on the next tour which was about a 15-20 minute wait, but the party of 5 that got there before us had to wait until the tour after that. The tour was quick, and the guy giving it seemed to know more about the actual beer than the brewing process, but he gave a decent tour. The tasting was amazing, the tour guide had a vast knowledge of all of the brewery's beers and it even included a fun little shot glass. The store had a nice variety of beers that are harder to find at stores. We also had a quick lunch at the brew pub. If you go there, get the frites, they are so good and come with your choice of dipping sauces which were also awesome. All in all, it was a very good time :)

During an Easter weekend trip to Cooperstown, my wife and I had our first lunch at the Ommegang Brewery. As expected, the beer selection was extensive for a craft brewery. We tried several of the different brews, and found a few that we really liked. In keeping with Ommegang being a craft brewery, the food menu was unusual. Every selection that my wife and I chose was tasty and we were glad that we decided to eat there. We enjoyed it so much that we decided to go back a second time and had another excellent meal with a couple of good brews!
