“Old time field”

This is a great place - frozen in time from the glorious past of baseball. You can imagine the scenes from "A League of Their Own" just looking out from the stands. A must for fans young and old

“Quick Stop at Doubleday Field”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 29, 2013

Walking into this stadium brings you back a few eras into an old-time ballpark. There was nothing going on at the time - looks like a game may have just ended though. Still worth the few minutes to walk around.

On a side note, the Traveling Vietnam Wall was on display in the Parking Lot for the weekend and was great to see but definitely a daunting and sad sight with the # of names on it.

“great piece of baseball history”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 24, 2013

It's worth visiting and there are frequent events here. I'll never forget going to a Hall of Fame game and having Sparky Anderson pat me on the shoulder on the way in. It's also a great chance to wander around Cooperstown and do some stargazing. I saw Pete Rose talking to someone in an open air restaurant, probably making his case for why he should be in the Hall.

“Something is always going on when we go to Doubleday field.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 24, 2013

This time they had some teams from the area which was still quite a game. One year we went and we met Nolan Ryan who happened to be playing with WestJet. Great to see they are always using the field!

“Icing on the cake!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 20, 2013

If you happen to be lucky enough to be in Cooperstown when there is a game, I highly recommend a visit to the park. We were lucky enough to go to the Hall of Fame game last year. It was just great seeing those alumni, though several years older, doing what they did best. The stadium is old style and will surely bring back feelings of youth in the 50+ crowd!
