“Relaxing Getaway!”
Reviewed February 19, 2014

This past weekend, we decided to run away from our daily activities and spend an evening in Cooperstown. We spent the night at the Landmark Inn and it was perfect. The food was delicious accommodating my allergies and the room was perfectly appointed - not too much but not too little. Robin and her whole team made us feel very much at home in this beautiful, old mansion.

Thank you MacNeils! "Relaxing" and "get-away", those are two words that are music to our ears. Come back soon and enjoy our wineries again! So many guests love our local Rieslings and Chardonnays, especially when they're paired with a great cheese from Cooperstown Cheese Co or Spurbeck's Deli ... and doubly especially when they're enjoying them on our beautiful side garden :) .

Come see us!

Warm Wishes,

Robin

My wife and I chose the Landmark for two night after Christmas getaway. When we travel we stay at B&B’s and this is at the top of our list! As soon as you step in the door of the Landmark the attention to detail is evident. The rooms and inn are tastefully decorated maintaining the historical flare while adding modern touches. The beds are extremely comfortable and rooms impeccably clean. Vita’s gourmet breakfast is served in the dining room and is awesome! Everything was beyond our expectations.

The real treasure of the Landmark is Robin, Fred, Amy and staff. They took the time to get to know us and we soon felt as though we were staying with friends we had known for years! Amy, the innkeeper will direct you to the many sites of Cooperstown. For us it was the HOF (a short walk), Ommegang Brewery and Cooperstown Distillery (these are a must if you like baseball, beer and bourbon). Amy’s suggested restaurants were perfect, with Alex & Ika’s being our favorite.

As much as we loved the baseball, beer, food and charm of Cooperstown we find ourselves reminiscing most about our time at the Landmark and the conversations we had with Amy, Robin & Fred. They are truly great people!
So look no further and book your stay at the Landmark. If they are booked you need to adjust your dates, seriously! Thank you again for a great getaway, we will see you again!

Thank to to our friends from PA! I practically blushed when I read your review. You are kind to say such things. Fred says hello, and Let's Go Mets! Of course, he always says that. I'm pretty sure he snuck it into our wedding vows. I know he mumbled something. Hmmm...

It always excites us when guests get a chance to enjoy all the great things about Cooperstown. If you think Cooperstown rocks in the winter -- and it does! -- come see us when the lake is blue, the fairways are green, the infield dirt at Doubleday Field is raked and red, streets are bustling, the opera is libretto-ing (?), the Fenimore museum is inspiring...

Warm Wishes,

Robin

My husband and I have stayed at a number of B&Bs, and this stay is definitely ranked in the top 5. The room (St. Somewhere) was fabulous, the breakfasts were to die for and the staff was extremely sweet and helpful. We plan on returning to Cooperstown this summer, and we will absolutely be returning to the Landmark!

My wife and I stayed at the Landmark Inn for three nights. We were going to a surprise 80th Birthday party for my cousin. The inn was immaculate with cordial staff and hosts. The room which we had was comfortable and quiet, and the King size bed was outstanding, The whole Inn was decorated in many 19th century antiques and you felt very at home on a cold winter's night with both fireplaces lit in the living room and dining area. The breakfasts were delicious, they must have great cooks.

Room Tip: We were in the Cooper room. Quiet, comfortable and large bathroom with shower.

Thank you so much to our new friends from New Jersey. You know, something really wonderful occurs here when guests can spend a few nights or more... and we love to watch it happen: the ease of the days leads to a warmth of conversation and a familiarity that's just so relaxing. While our accomodations are first class, we always wanted the inn to feel like a cherished floppy sweater on an autumn day - familiar, welcoming, comforting, a place to just curl up with. I'm so glad you all felt that way.

Warm Wishes,

Robin

This was our second stay at the Landmark Inn and the new ownership has made some great improvements. Robin is AWESOME! Had a great time just chatting with her during breakfast and she did a fantastic job in the preparation and presentation of the meal. HIGHLY recommend staying here if not just for the peace and quiet. The cookies that are put out in the afternoon are so good. Cannot wait to get back in the summer once the snow melts but the Inn is absolutely stunning at night.

Room Tip: Dream Shower. Enough Said.

Thank you Justin, and thanks for the compliment on the cookies. Those orange shortbread chocolate chip cookies are prepared fresh every day by Chef Vita and - if you ask Fred - "There's never any left ! grumble, grumble"! Come see us in summer. The side porch/garden will have a new fountain, and the flowers will all be in bloom. After this long winter, we can hardly wait!

Warm Wishes,

Robin

We arrived and the first person to greet us was Amy, she is warm and friendly. She then showed us to our room (number ten) This room has a private entrance with a ramp to the door. The room is decorated in a Key West theme. It even has books on the table written by Jimmy Buffet. My wife and I enjoyed the "Dream Shower" so much that now I have to install one in my house. Amy suggest some local restaurants which turned out to be perfect for us. During breakfast we had the pleasure to meet Robin the inn keeper. Her and her husband have recently purchased the inn and have done wonders with it. The breakfast was wonderful, they only use fresh local produce and eggs from around the corner. Even the coffee is blended local. I want to thank everyone at the inn for the wonderful stay. When we get our own Inn we will be using the same recipe they used at the Landmark to make the guest feel like friends.

Cant say enough...I will definitely be going back. Such a nice place to stay. The owners were so nice and accommodating. We stayed a few nights, beginning on New Years Eve. The owner helped us find places to go eat, and also went out of her way to help us find a safe route to Niagara Falls, since a big snow storm hit the area the night before we were departing. When we left the Inn was closing for a couple weeks to add on a new suite. I can't wait to go back and see the new addition.
See you in the spring or Fall : )

Room Tip: The "Chance" suite was fabulous. We absolutely loved it. We will book this room again when...

Hello to our new friends from NJ! We were very touched by your stories of SS Sandy and what you all endured. We trust you made it to Niagara Falls without incident and that the view was all you hoped it would be. Check out our FB page for pictures of the new suite. We would LOVE to host you in it whenever you find the chance to come back.

Warm wishes,

Robin
