We had a family emergency, my father-in-law was dying. After trying several hotels, who did not care and would not let us is because it was before check in times. They had the same check in time as the Lake Front Motel. The gentlemen at the desk listened and gladly let us check in at 9 am! We had been up for over 30 hours, and really just needed a place to stay and clean up. It was within minutes of the hospital. The rooms were small, but they were very very clean. I will always remember and appreciate the kindness we were treated with. They even opened the office several hours before they were open so we could check out, after my father-in-laws passing. We were allowed to call each day to let them know if we needed the room for another night.

Location, location, location. This motel has that given its setting on the south end of Otsego lake and since we paid for the room with the view, we had a great vista out our window of leaves changing and sun bouncing on the water.
However, there were NO amenities. No coffee pot, no iron, 1 garbage can in the bathroom that housed the smallest shower I have ever seen and had no shower head (just a spout).
The room claimed to have a "private lakefront patio" and there were chairs outside the room, but they were in a line of chairs that were outside of everone's front door, and you had to peer around the side of the building to get a broad view of the lake.
It is labeled as a Motel and that's what it is, a two story basic room and bath, and I don't mind staying in a place with limited comforts, amenities, but I don't want to pay big city hotel prices for it. Just two weeks pior I stayed at a Marriot in Seattle and had a room overlooking Eliot Bay within walking distance to Pike Place Market and I paid $20 less per night. I also had two garbage cans, a massage head shower, a coffee pot, iron, extra pillows and blankets, room service, a gym, concierge to go with the magnificent view. That's more like it.
If you want the view, (and can book one of the two rooms that have it) feel free to stay there and enjoy. But there are a couple of other choices on the water that I think are in the same price range, and there are definitely other places to stay in and around Cooperstown that are in the same or better price range with more amenities

Although the hotel was clean, the room we were given was the smallest room we've ever seen. One "queen" bed; small desk with the TV sitting on it, and a chair in the room that if you opened a desk drawer, you'd hit the chair. There was a tiny rack for clothes and when you woke up, your head hit into the clothes that were hanging. The bathroom was incredibly small and if you were tall and sat on the commode, you knees hit the wall. Also, our view out the front window was a staircase that all the guests on the upper level ran up and down. If you're claustrophobic, go elsewhere. Not worth the money, although other rooms at this motel were larger and had an extra window with a view of the lake.

We stayed at this hotel sept 18-20th, we had the best room two queen beds, 150$ a night. We thought it was a good price for the four of us .we were on the 2nd floor upstairs overlooking the lake. the bathroom was a fair size. sure the place needs to be updating, but we loved it. it was very clean and the service at front desk was great. the resturant was great also, breakfast through supper. we will stay there again next year when we go back. cooperstown is a beautiful place to go. we watched our son and his team play baseball at the Doulbleday field, which is great every year we go. i will recommend this place to anyone. Thank you very much for the great stay here.....looking forward to next year......

I went to cooperstown for a week in august to watch my cousin play baseball on the Dreams Park field. The first day when we got there the room smelt like smoke and that night when we were going to bed there was bed bugs in the bed. We were up all night and all night we were playing bug patrol killing the bugs we were literally watching the bugs crawl up on the pillows. After the first night we left. CAUTION STAY AWAY YOU WILL HAVE BUGS IN THE BED NOT MUCH OF A DIFFERENCE IF YOU SLEPT OUTSIDE !!!
