While the location was superb, the room was quite small, and seemed crowded with too much furniture, with no place to put toiletries in bathroom, also not very well air conditioned, had air blowing on my head all night, as it was located over the head of the bed, with no option to fiddle around with it, found just the opposite to be true for the what they called a "shower" the shower head, was given an eco-care spin, which really just gave you a lousy emission of water, it afforded you the experience more of a "mist-wand" than a real shower. NOT a good shower at all. A bit pricey actually for what the room was all about. And while the restaurant on the shore, served up some pretty yummy meals, and had a very good waitstaff, that whole morning breakfast business was so silly, why the hotel even bothered to give you a card good towards only "specific" items, wasn't worth the drama of having to hear about it, though it did afford you 10% off dinner the night before, if you went in. Couldn't beat the view though, a day on the beautiful lake, with big puffy clouds and dining while watching all the dogs go running into the water, made it alot of fun.

The only thing that was "nice" about this hotel was the small view of the lake that was blocked by some some buildings. The rooms were small and the t.v. was from 1990. Everything there is way over priced, including the "free" breakfast. It's in a good location, but if you don't really want to pay $260.00 a night, stay up the road a mile for $120.00 at one of the chain hotel brand hotels. There wasn't even a radio in the room. I guess the high prices of everything there is what turned me off the most. $120.00 would hav e been a fair price per night.

We spent two nights here. The first night we rented one of the rooms that overlooks the lake (we got the side near the mouth of the Susquehanna). It had a private, covered balcony and the room was nicely sized. We enjoyed the lake that night on the balcony, it was beautiful! The next night we stayed in one of the economy rooms. It was a bit smaller and no private balcony, but you could still see the lake from the room and it was very comfortable. Everything is brand new and very nice. There are no refrigerators or coffee makers in the rooms, but that's not a big deal since the restaurant is right there and is wonderful. Plus, with the room you get free breakfast (a limited menu, but good!) and 10% off any other meal. You also get a free tour of Otsego Lake on the Glimmerglass Queen, which was a lot of fun! All of this paired with the convenient location- walking distance to the HOF and the rest of Main Street- makes this the ideal place to stay in Cooperstown. We loved this place and will definitely be staying here again.

We've stayed at the Lake Front Motel (in the "Annex" section) two consecutive years. The Motel consists of two main parts - the major section is a newly renovated multi-level motel close to the water, about a 10 minute walk from the Hall of Fame on the main street in Cooperstown. The second section is the Annex, a converted barn, featuring three huge guest rooms. This section is literally a one minute walk to the front door of the Hall, and each guest room includes reserved parking in front of the Annex.

This outstanding location makes up for some important weaknesses in the hotel (again, emphasizing that our experience is exclusively in the Annex). The check-in service both years has been unfriendly. You need to check in at the main part of the hotel, and both times we were made to feel that we were intruders as opposed to valued guests. The rooms themselves are very spacious, while the washrooms are tiny and in need of a facelift. The rooms have telephones and colour TV, but little else in the way of the amenities one might expect for paying $140 per night for a room. Information about the hotel is available at http://www.lakefrontmotelandrestaurant.com. If you're booking in the Annex, avoid the ground floor suite if possible, which opens directly into the parking lot. Go for one of the more spacious rooms on the upper floor. Another plus for this hotel is that it's actually open during the "off-season" - we found a few in-town hotels are closed outside of the busy summer months. We did visit the restaurant (which is attached to the main hotel, down by the water). The food and value for money were average. There is no pool, no spa, no room service. Parking is included in the room rate.

Just renovated so that is a plus. Room very clean. Suggest get upstairs room. Rooms a bit noisy, walls a bit thin but a quiet place overall and mostly families. Despite being very busy whole place very quiet before 10 pm.
New bed was comfortable. Bathroom is fine, again just average but new and clean. Location is by a small boat marina and a park on the other side. A very short walk up a bit of a hill (not too steep but note if you have limitations) to the hall of fame. Breakfast is nothing special but service was pleasant and friendly from the waitstaff. They have an outside seating are for the restaurant with nice seating area so a pleasant spot in nice weather.
A good spot for a night or two for baseball and the sights or if you are in transit.

We found the room small, no place to put toiletries, air conditioner is just above the bed, which wasn't pleasant blowing on our faces. We've had much better continental breakfast in less priced places. The packet of shamppo was very hard to open, had to have my husband do that. Location was good.

My husband and I stayed here while visiting the Baseball Hall of Fame over a weekend in May. The hotel and the Village were still relatively quiet, as it wasn't quite busy season yet. They were doing work upgrading the hotel while we were there so the restaurant was closed. The room still smelled like paint, and we could tell they've done a lot of work over the winter to update it for the summer. They were also doing work on the sister hotel (I guess) across the street.

The room was a little small, but big enough for just the two of us and no smaller, I would say, than some rooms I've stayed at in chain hotels. We didn't spend much time in the room as it was. The bathroom was also a little small and I wish they had more counter space for the sink, but otherwise it was nice, clean and new. I did read in a review that they didn't have enough pillows and I would agree. In a queen, there were only two small pillows, but otherwise the bed was fine.

The staff that we encountered were very friendly. We drove up from Maryland and got in VERY late. They were very accommodating to us getting in late. They even turned on the heat and a light for us, since we were getting in well past closing time for the office.

The location couldn't be better, and you definitely pay for the convenience. It's right on the lake, which I would imagine would be great over the summer. It is also a 5 minute walk to the Baseball Hall of Fame, which was our primary reason for traveling to Cooperstown. It was great to park our car and not have to worry about moving it all weekend long! We could walk to the museum, shops and restaurants nearby.

Overall a great experience. I originally had tried to book a room at Tunnicliff Inn but couldn't get a hold of anyone there and Lake Front picked up every time I called. Will definitely stay here next time we visit!
