We spent an afternoon exploring this gem of a state park while visiting the Cooperstown area. There is something for everyone here - some impressive history for the history buffs, nice trails for the nature lovers, up to date playgrounds for the kids, primitive camping sites for the outdoorsy types, lots of picnic tables and clean up to date bathroom facilities for families and a clean well groomed beach for the swimmers and sun worshipers. The park is not huge so it's easy to hike around and see everything in an hour or so. We enjoyed the oldest covered bridge in New York State and part of the Hyde Hall complex of buildings in the park. We even surprised a couple of young deer grazing in a field just below Hyde Hall and we were able to get several photos. If you are vacationing in the Cooperstown area Glimmerglass is a great place to spend all or part of the day!
