“GREAT FOOD ~~~ FRIENDLY SERVICE”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 26, 2014

We had dinner there Saturday night, both the prime rib and ribeye steak were good choices. Sat upstairs in the bar area and we had no complaints. Only problem with the prime rib was you didn't receive the au jus with it, learned the next night that you have to ask for it. Went in for wings on Sunday night and they were some of the best wings that we've had. Since the weather was so nice on Sunday evening we sat on the outside deck, which has a nice view of the Hall Of Fame across the street. Owners and all of the employees that we met were friendly. We will be keeping this place in our dining plans for future visits.

“NOT for Baseball fans”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 21, 2014

When planning our 24 hour trip to Cooperstown, and the Baseball Hall of Fame, my friends and I (all life long baseball fans) researched our lodging and dining itinerary on line. We found Cooperstown Back Alley Grill when searching for "Sports Bars Cooperstown, NY". We were excited, not only because of it's convenient proximity to the Hall (Cooperstown Back Alley Grill sits less than 200 yards away from the Hall of Fame), but because we thought we'd be able to extend our baseball experience with live game coverage on television while enjoying a beer and some good pub food. In 2014 one would think an establishment described as a sports bar located steps away from the Baseball Hall of Fame would have a satellite network (DISH, Direct TV) and have any game in the country available for their patrons. NOT!! Wow, were we disappointed! In fact, during the 30 minutes we were there, the place seemed to be staffed by young teens, none of whom seemed to know how to operate the remotes for any of the televisions in the upstairs bar area. One of the waitresses who could have been no more than 16 or 17 actually gave me the remote and said "good luck"! After several minutes, we discovered the only channels available equated to a Basic cable package. To make the experience worse, the draft beer we ordered tasted old and as if the beer lines needed cleaning. Needless to say, it prompted our exit. We didn't stay to try the food. It has great location and pleasant enough decor, but the immature staff and stale beer sealed the deal for us. Disappointing.

“Friendly staff, great homemade chips”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 15, 2014

We were hungry, looking for a place for a late lunch. The staff here were incredibly friendly and chatty. Very homey place. The waitress wanted us to know that the chips were homemade, not regular out of the bag chips. So husband ordered them as his side. I never eat potato chips, but the waitress was right. They came fresh cooked, warm and delicious; no regrets. I had a strawberry feta spinach salad, fresh and good. Husband had a wrap. Food was fine, although nothing special. All in all, a good place for a quick lunch..

“Like visiting Cheers!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 8, 2013 via mobile

What a great drop in place. We went to the bar upstairs on a Late Monday afternoon in October. Wait staff was very friendly and the nice bar was a great place to chat up other visitors. We only had a couple of appetizers which were great so can't review the entrees. It was just a nice place to wind down after our visit to the Baseball Hall of Fame and the shops in the Village. We had a nice young bartender early in our visit but missed getting her name. Then Marsha took over and she was also a delight. The owner was there too and we had a nice chat with him. Would definitely recommend for a post touring visit! Nice looking outside spaces. Would be fun to hang out there if it was a little warmer!

“Good Food, Good Beer, GREAT Wings!!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 4, 2013

Good Food, Good Beer, GREAT Wings!

We popped in here to kill some time and grab a bite while waiting for the next cruise on the Glimmerglass Queen. We opted to sit at the bar upstairs and have a light lunch. Obviously sitting at the bar, we got great service from a pleasant bar tender so things were looking up immediately. Mrs. Floyd ordered a grilled cheese & tomato with bacon accompanied by homemade potato chips. I had a bite and thought it was excellent and the chips were great!!

Ahhhh, here come the wings I ordered…

First, let me warn you, these are WHOLE wings. That means ONE wing includes the “drumette” or drumstick part, the “wing” or two-bone part, and the wing “tip” which is somewhat useless so I use it to poke people. So…if you get 8 wings in an order, (which I believe was the portion) in reality you are getting 16 wings by most other restaurant standards…

PLUS 8 people pokers!!

The wing order also featured both blue cheese & ranch dressing WITHOUT making a special request and the requisite celery stalks.

While I wimped out and went for mild wings, they were EXCELLENT!! Tasty and prepared absolutely perfectly, not undercooked and rubbery, not overcooked and all crunch, a perfect 10 in regards to preparation, so good that I later walked down to the kitchen and complemented the chef who was a really nice guy to boot.

Absolutely nothing to complain about except that I wish I had more time in town to go back again!
