After seeing a wonderful production of Glimmerglass-West Side Story- we spent the night at the Cooper Inn. Lovely older well kept inn. Quiet clean room on the first floor facing the back lawn. Fully supplied bathroom with a strong shower.

Helpful and kind desk personnel. Free breakfast served. Also wine served in the general room during cocktail hour. There is a relationship between this inn and The Otesaga...just two walking blocks away on the lake
( fabulous view) . One can choose to eat breakfast at The Otesaga with a 50% discount from the Cooper Inn.

Cooperstown is a tough place to find an elegant hotel but luckily, The Cooper Inn fits the bill. If you’re not looking for a budget motel or don’t want to pay upwards of $500 for the Otesaga, this is really your only choice.

The inn has a great location on one of the side streets that runs from the Main Street down to the lake. Because it’s in its own fenced in park, it’s always quiet and has ample parking for guests.

Because it’s owned by the same group that owns the Otesaga, you can use all the facilities at the Otesaga and get coupons for discounted meals there. While the view of the lake from the Otesaga’s back porch is spectacular, I prefer the rooms at the Cooper Inn, which feels much more like a boutique hotel. Request room 271, which is at the top of a circular staircase in the original part of the building and has windows that overlook the front of the hotel. It’s a large and gracious room. You can eat, work out and lounge at the Otesaga and then return to the discreet quiet of the Cooper Inn. You’ll get the best of both worlds.

This is hands down my favorite place to stay in Cooperstown and, trust me, I’ve tried them all.

Wonderful Suite...Easy Drive...great Breakfast (make em yourself waffles!)...very clean.
Has a two very nice rooms to visit friends in, complimentary 'Happy Hour'...nice walking area, short block to main street, but very quiet! Have already made reservations for next year!

Room Tip: Second floor rooms have a better view...

Stayed here one night during our trek through Upstate NY. Beautiful old mansion just half a block off of the village and all the action. It's tied to Otesaga Hotel so you can use their pool and services, which we did as it's only like a block walk. Pool at Otesaga is awesome, right on the big lawn overlooking the lake, surrounded by the big patio and Hawkeye restaurant. You can just put the kids in the pool, sit back, have a glass of wine and enjoy the tranquility. It's expensive but you certainly get what you pay for. Service is great! Lance at the Cooper Inn was great. Rooms are nice and clean and you get free continental breakfast. Only slight downside, if there is one, is that for the money you pay I'd think they'd throw in more for breakfast, but that didn't bother me all that much as we enjoyed our stay.

My husband and I stayed here last weekend while visiting Cooperstown. It’s a lovey inn and decorated so beautifully. Every staff member we came in contact with was helpful and nice. We had room 268 and it was huge with a large bathroom. I was worried about noise since it was the first room at the top of the spiral stairs but we didn’t hear a peep all night. This inn is located in town and you can walk everywhere. They also have a nice deck with free wine every night! I would definitely stay here again.
