We were looking for a place in Cooperstown which was within walking distance of the main strip and which would easily accommodate three adults and an 18 month old. The Cooper Inn has a perfect location and beautiful lot/grounds. Within two blocks of the Hall of Fame and close to food and shops. We opted for a two bedroom suite. It had one room with a twin bed (where the toddler slept in the pack and play and his mom slept in the twin bed) and one room with a twin and a queen bed. There was a small connecting hallway with a door to the shared bath. Each room could be closed off which worked well for us having a small child with an early bedtime and early wake up. The large yard/grounds was also helpful for us to have space to allow the little guy to run around without concern. The gentleman checking us in followed up at the room to see if we had all we needed since he saw we had a little one with us.

Each room had a fairly large TV with remote. In the sizable closets hung bathrobes as well as an extra roll-awa bed. The beds were super comfy - one of the best beds I've slept on - with very nice lines and pillows. The rooms, like the rest of the Inn, had character and period elements were kept to give the space charm while modern updates made it functional. The adjoining bath was updated and the shower was great.

Our bedroom (the larger of the two) had an easy chair as well and we had old fashioned veranda type doors which we could open to the front of the building to get fresh air.

The Inn decor is somewhat overdone for my tastes, but obviously was the look they were going for and everything was in good condition. They have a very comfy front room area for reading, conversation and relaxing. The breakfast which was included was typical of other hotel breakfasts - with fruit, pastries, waffle maker, toasts, hardboiled eggs, etc. It was all fresh and well attended by the staff. The nice part was that we got to eat that breakfast in a beautiful dining area on real linen tablecloths, china and silverware.

Overall, I would stay here again anytime. It was not cheap, but split 3 ways between our family it was doable for us. You will find that there simply arent chain type motels close to the action in Cooperstown and I think to really enjoy the town, you should budget for the nicest room you can afford.

Room Tip: We were on the main floor. I'm not sure about the location of all the rooms but it did appear to have steps to upper and lower levels. I did not see any elevator or lift so if you have someone unable to do stairs you might inquire about accessablity.

The Cooper Inn is just beautiful. The space, the appointments, the atmosphere, the service are impeccable. This is an historic property with a contemporary feel. It is well maintained, elegantly furnished and scrupulously clean. The are only 15 guest rooms, so it has the atmosphere of a B&B but it is affiliated with a large resort in the area and offers access to all its amenities as well. The inn is about two blocks from the Baseball Hall of Fame and beautiful Lake Otsego.

This delightful Inn built in 1816 offers all the comforts of home including a delightful breakfast, comfortable bed and wonderful location. The Inn is located right in the middle of this quiet little town, within walking distance of The Baseball Hall of Fame, baseball oriented shops and restaurants. A very enjoyable place to relax, the inn sits right on its own park like property in case you want to go for a stroll. It is clean as a whistle and the staff is friendly and helpful. The spiral staircase is part of its charm, but there is no elevator.

We stayed for one night at the Cooper Inn. They were able to accommodate everyone in my group including a 4 bed - room for my parents , brother and niece and each had their own private space!
We had a lovely and huge room for my husband and myself.
We were unaware but informed that we would be welcome to a continental breakfast in the morning.
What a surprise! The breakfast was wonderful! It included fresh fruit of all sorts, blueberries , strawberries, melon ; waffles , bagels , yogurt , cereal , muffins and pastries.

We took our adult children to Cooperstown to visit the Baseball Hall of Fame. We stayed at the Cooper Inn and were all very pleased with everything. The location is great and an easy walk to the Hall of Fame, restaurants and souvenir shopping. The staff was very nice and helpful at all times. On the morning we left, we had to leave at 6:30 a.m. so the front desk manager made sure we got coffee and muffins before leaving even though their breakfast isn't normally served until 7:30 a.m.

Room Tip: If you have problem with stairs, be sure to ask for a room downstairs.
