This gem of architecture has excellent tours and each of our visits there have been new rooms added to the tour as well as new artifacts discovered. The history of the Clarke family is so fascinating that you will leave wanting to read more about them.

In Cooperstown and looking for historical and beautiful sights to see. Found this on TripAdvisor. Made the short drive around the lake and was awestruck. The tour was reasonable and informative. Loved walking through the house and imagining what life was like in the 1800's. The view is amazing. If you enjoy history, architecture and taking time to slow down and breath in the beauty of nature you will enjoy this stop. Be sure to see the covered bridge while you're there and get some exercise in the park.

Looking for short hikes, we discovered this state park while visiting a local cider mill. We were so pleasantly surprised to find this historic building on this exquisite setting. Very Interesting American history in this corridor of central New York. This is worth the short mile drive around the lake to see the view in fall.

I discovered this quite by accident. The home is in a state of disrepair, but the tour guide was very knowledgeable and spoke well about the history of this amazing home. It'll be some time before all the renovations are done, but it's a cool visit, and the views of the lake are really nice.

The history behind this mansion is pretty neat...but there really isn't a whole lot to see. The views are spectacular -- looking out onto Glimmerglass Lake. In the Visitor Center is a nice exhibit on the Titanic. If you make it to Hyde Hall, then you need to make it into Cooperstown...very cute little town.
