November was perfect for visiting as it was not crowded at all. We paid 50 cents each to ride the New York state carousel. The operator took the time to tell us the background and name of every animal on it. Just loved Merry the dog, named after merry go round!
There were docents dressed in period costume at a couple of houses - all of them so nice and informative. I enjoyed seeing and learning about the helpfulness of live leaches at the Pharmacy.
Some animals were still out and about this late in the year. Our favorite was the turkeys and hearing the loud gobbles of the males and the chick chick noices of the females.
Plenty to see and read about for all ages. The only negative would be that the cafe in the carriage house does not have a variety to choose from and the chili I got for lunch was way too spicey. I could not finish it. They should have warned me.
