“Not for the Business Traveler”
Reviewed May 8, 2008

As a business traveler, I would not stay at this Hampton Inn again. There was no desk in my room, only a small round table. This made working very inconvenient. The hotel also has no fitness center. Passes are available to Gold's Gym, which they say is 5 minutes away. In reality, it is a 15 minute drive. The gym is located in the middle of a secluded industrial park. This is not a location where a female traveling alone would feel comfortable being at night. There is a diner next to the hotel, which is just ok. Other larger chain restaurants (Bennigans, Outback, Applebees) are a 10 to 15 minute drive.

I traveled on business and stayed for three nights. Hotel is clean and rooms are spacious and well maintained. Free hi-speed worked well. the lobby was well kept and staff was friendly and helpful. Beds were comfortable and appeared to be fairly new. The only con to the trip- bathroom smelled like stale smoke and although the room was non-smoking it had obviously been smoked in recently.
Overall I would recommend for business or pleasure. There is a diner in front of the hotel that is very good and I would definitely recommend it for any meal.

Located right off the LIE, this Hampton is very easy to find. The rooms were clean, the breakfast was very filling, the prices right. No problems recommending this hotel.

Stayed here for 6 days on an unexpected trip to Long Island - for the price you can't go wrong on this property. Staff was very friendly, helpful and you get a breakfast included in your daily rate. Not a high roller property, but for $125.00 per night (ARP rate) it's clean, quite and comfortable.

There are many good eating spots in close by including a nice dinner just in front of the hotel that is about 100 yards from the front door of the hotel. Easy freeway access if you need to travel.

I could not find any thing to complain about during my stay which is unusual.

I highly recommend this property if you are looking for a nice conformable hotel on a budget. Large movie complex is just behind the hotel as well as a Home Depot Exp and Costco store.

I travel a fair amount for business and was looking for a hotel in middle Long Island, NY. For the 'area' this hotel is a very good deal! The hotel, for a Hampton inn, is a little older. However, once at the room I was pleasantly surprised. The bedding is higher end and very comfortable, the room is very adequate, clean, and all the amenities I needed were there. This included High-speed internet, coffee maker, etc. There is a dinner within 100 yards walking distance and several nice restaurants close by. The staff was very nice and overly accommodating. I asked for a place where I could get a nice steak dinner. They told me of a great pub close by, and even offered discount coupons for a complimentary glass of wine at the pub. From one who travels, if you don't want to pay over $200 in that 'area', it is a very good deal!

The rate here struck me as a bit high, but it was similar to or better than other hotels in the area. This is not a fancy hotel, but it is clean, quiet, comfortable and there are small details to make the stay nicer. Our room was large and had a coffeemaker and mini-fridge. And the complimentary breakfast was satisfactory. I like that they give us options. For example, they gave us Newsday and USA Today. There were 3 types of coffee (strong, mild and decaf) and tea and hot chocolate of course, several types of hot and cold cereal with your choice of fat free or 2% milk, bagels, toast and various toppings, pastries, fresh fruit and fruit salad, even hot sausages and french toast. It's not a romantic spot (unless you consider a view of the Multiplex romantic), but it's a decent place to sleep.

Gave us a smoking room when non-smoking was requested- made no attempt to air out the room, spray air freshener or vacuum. Room was also right by a noisy elevator. Free breakfast came with the room rate (which was a bit pricey compared to like motels and inns)- quite a bit of variety if you want bagels, toast or meat but no healthy alternatives.
