“Yummy Hot Chocolate and Best Desserts Ever!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 24, 2014

We stayed here last April 12, 2014 for an overnight stay to celebrate his birthday. I chose this place because I wanted to find out what the buzz is all about this place.

The place wasn't really that striking from the outside and also from the inside. It actually looked old and the paint on the wall was already cracking. The receptionist that attended to us seemed to be lost and did not know what she was supposed to do. I just settled the bill that time since we arrived early, and our room was not yet ready. It took her around 15 min. just to sort everything out. Upon check-in, we were promptly assisted to our room. We took the tiny elevator that seemed out of place.

The room was spacious, nothing really outstanding compared to other hotels we've stayed in. Ugly view from our window room. The bathroom was ordinary and the shower room was rather small. The tub worked well and the water pressure was good.

Since they offer complimentary snacks (bread sticks and nachos), we went to their cafe and we also ordered some desserts. We had the mango cheesecake and the mango creme brulee. Lo' and behold! These two sinful treats were to die for!

They also have a pool that goes no deeper than 4ft (made for kids) and there's also a jacuzzi. Nothing special.

Basically the highlight of our stay there was the comfy bed and pillows (2 pillows per guest) and of course, the breakfast buffet. There was bacon!

Overall, I wouldn't really advise going to this hotel if you plan on going around Subic. The rate is just too much for what they offer. Even Le Monet (in Baguio) is cheaper compared to their rates.

Without a doubt, this is the best hotel in Subic area. Very big rooms, very efficient and friendly staff... amazing service. You cannot find another hotel in Subic as good as the Lighthouse. This is a very comfortable stay for me and my family and one of the best vacation hotels for us. Food in their cafe is excellent too! We really look forward to staying in this hotel again.

Room Tip: All rooms are great.. try to get one with a sea view.

We were here on March 19, 2014.

Sheila May of Lighthouse Resort suggested the Sunset Sail Away as a romantic addition to our visit. Still had to look around but while talking to Lyra, a concierge of Ayala Mall nearby, I was convinced that sailing would make a picturesque memory.
The Front Desk and Valet assisted us fill our beverage cooler with ice. After getting the direction to the yacht club, we met with the crew. It was around 4:30PM when we set sail.
It was so tranquil with just the occasional flaps of the sail, soft waves and birds crossing our paths. An hour and a half later we started sailing back. By then, the horizon was turning orange as the sun sets.
We had our dinner at the resort's Sands al Fresco Restaurant where the chef cooked our foods tableside.
The Sail Away was romantic indeed.

After reviewing more than 10 hotels in Subic, this is still the best hotel for me. The amenities, facilities, rooms, view, service, food, etc., justify its price. You will never go wrong with Lighthouse!

Room Tip: Choose rooms with balcony.

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 17, 2014

My parents recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary by renewing their vows at the resort. It was a bit expensive for 30 people and we are really paying for the brand name. However, our consultant assured us that they deliver. And deliver they did. We opted for a sunset ceremony and reception however the weather wasn't agreeing with us. So the backup set up was used. The best part? The crew had to change the venue 4 times! They had already prepared the beach front venue when our consultant decided to move it indoors when it looked like it was going to rain but when we came in, my dad wanted to move the venue back outside as the weather was clearing up. Then, after a few minutes of setting up outside, the weather didn't let up again so finally, we decided to stay indoors. I felt so sorry for the crew who had to sweat it out carrying the all the equipment needed. We were so satisfied with the service.
To top it all off, the management's gift to my parents was a performance from one of the best musicians in the country!

It was just a shame we didn't get to stay there as they were fully booked but I'll make sure to visit the next time I go back to the Philippines.

I will surely come back to Lighthouse Marina for my own special day! :)

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
The most lavish and magnificent Subic Bay experience. Like a beacon that steers boats to shore, this magnificent establishment on the Subic waterfront can serve as a venue that beckons travelers seeking world-class comfort. Our Commitment: Lighthouse is committed to creating value and improving guests' experience. We have this genuine interest in our guests' evolving needs, thus we invest in our infrastructure and our people as we strive to provide a compelling guest experience. Our company was built on serving and satisfying guests and meeting if not surpassing our guests' needs is always our No. 1 priority. The Location: The Lighthouse Marina Resort is a three-floor, 34-room boutique hotel capped by a lighthouse. The hotel is sleek and ultra-modern in its Palafox-designed architecture. Done in almost austere Italianate architectonics with its elegantly simplistic hotel façade, the hotel's main building provides a perfect compliment to the 20 meter light tower done in surprising detail very faithful to naval architecture specifications. Its exclusive location hidden in the midst of the busy Waterfront Road makes it the ultimate haven of retreat. The Lighthouse was established in 2007 to provide transient residence to executives of business locators of the Subic free port zone and for tourists who frequent the port more for its sailing and eco‐tourism than its business. Ease of Travel: Proximity and ease of travel are always a concern for many people who are trying to escape the hustle and bustle of life in the metropolis. Just less than a year ago, Subic was a grueling three to four hour drive from the city capital. Today, all roads lead to a tranquil location, a journey of heightened leisure, traversing through a scenic paved ultra majestic highway newly built to serve as the main vein of the Manila-Subic connection, the Subic Clark Tarlac Expressway. For a relaxing and inexpensive travel, the flicker of light at the Lighthouse Marina Resort just got brighter. A perfect vacation haven away from home just got closer. Its exclusive location hidden in the midst of the busy Waterfront Road makes it the ideal chill out place within the shorelines of Subic Bay. ... more   less
