Grand Hoyah Hotel
Reviewed April 1, 2013

The hotel is new and is owned by a taiwanese. It is a two star hotel. It is generally clean but the carpet is stained already on the third floor. The room is average with not so comfortable beds. What i noticed was the floor polisher was displayed near the front desk of the third floor and the housekeeping room was open for all the guests to see.The waitress at the breakfast area wasn't friendly. like she was already overworked. Parking was not that safe. The hubby lost his tshirt. Plus factor of the hotel- new and near the restos. There is no pool.

There were 5 of us who stayed in one big room - with king size bed, sofa, and requested two additional beds for an extra reasonable fee of 500 pesos each. Still have plenty of walking area even after laying down the additional 2 beds. Wooden floor, good size plasma TV, good view of the mountains, small refrigerator, coffee maker, good size shower area in the tiled bathroom. Airconditioning is remote controlled and can cool the room well. With small balcony overlooking the parking lot. Clean smell inside the room. Mapquest the location for easy search; there is no entrance from the main street, you have to go to a smaller side street to get to the parking lot. Fairly new building, nicely painted, new furnitures. Close to the mall and restaurants - just walking distance. Breakfast is included except for the extra two additional guests, but breakfast is reasonably priced. We were in the breakfast area and the airconditioner was not on yet, so it felt humid and uncomfortable. We took our breakfast back to the room. I recommend this hotel and I would pick this again.

The place got some great reviews here, so i decided to check in when i was in subic.
This is a new japanese place, i was surprised with the room size and decided to upgrade to a room with a small veranda and couch that was pretty big with a 42 inch plasma tv and a very annoying remote control. Strong wifi signal, great aircon, decent bathroom with toiletteries (weak water presure), room safe and a nice sofa. They also have the smallest elevator ever made, it's like an attraction in itself! No pool, witch is a shame really, because you are not allowed to swim down at the beach.

Ground floor contains a japanese karaoke with pretty girls in tiny skirts and a restaurant. I just ate makis here, but they were good. Polite serviceminded staff did a good job when i was there.

Locationwise it is ok, it will take you a good five minutes walk to go to the harbour point shopping mall with nice shopping, atm machines, restaurants and movies. Walk the other way and you are standing at the beach in less than five minutes. Restaurants and dancing down here. I felt safe walking both places, the traffic is not that heavy and to the harbour point there was traffic police watching the crossing.

I think Grand Hoyah gives the rest of the hotels in subic something to think about, you really get your money's worth here even without a pool. My first choice if i go back to subic.

Grand Hoyah is a very clean hotel with helpful and smiling staff. The Deluxe King is huge and sufficient amenities are provided, including complimentary bottled water and coffee/tea service, which is replenished everyday. The hotel is hard to find at first because it is not along Canal Road as stated in their website. After you turn left at the Mini Stop from Rizal Highway, turn right immediately at a dirt road with no street sign. The location is excellent and is near shops, restaurants and a mall. There is a massage place at the corner and a Royal supermarket behind the hotel, both within walking distance.

My wife and I took our 2 year old grand daughter to subic for her to see live the dolphins and tigers so we decided to check in for a two night stay at grand hoyah hotel. The hotel was hard to find as there was no sign along the road where you were suppose to turn right. When we saw it, we were on the other side of the road with a creek in between. That was the only hassle though. Once we were there, we were greeted by friendly and smiling front desk staff. The elevator was small but it was ok, hotel attendants carried our luggages to the stairs. This is a new hotel so i expected it to be clean and i was not disappointed. Their rooms are clean and large giving enough space for our grand daughter to run and play to her delight. The tv was big, the bed was big, the sheets are clean, the toilet and bath is clean and large enough so i can't ask for anything more. The hotel does not have a swimming pool though but it's ok. Anyway, we went to subic for the ocean adventure and zoobic safari so the pool was not a setback. Location of the hotel was ok. Very near shops and restaurants. Breakfast was also included. Although the food was limited and very few choices its fine, its free anyway. The hotel staff also aranged a taxi for us for our tour the following day. All in all, staying with this hotel satisfied us and i will consider it again if i go back to subic....

Reservations via internet went smoothly with follow up emails being promptly returned. Check in went quickly and room met all expectations. Breakfast was included with room charge and was of limited selection but OK and enough to get the day started. Front desk was very helpful in assisting us to get a car and driver for a day tour of the area at a good price. Location is down a side street but still within easy walking distance of the new mall which has a good selection of shopping, food, grocery, drug store, etc.

Stayed here for a night with my Auntie and they really love the place. Staff greets you whenever you passes by and very accommodating in every request. The place is just a walking distance to harbor point ayala mall. They just need to improve the complimentary breakfast. I will surely recommend this place.
