“Interesting and an ok way to spend an hour or two”

For me, watching fish is a bit like watching a campfire - kind of relaxing and you can just stare for a while. So I found the whole place fairly relaxing. Went with the family. They all enjoyed it. You wander around outside and see fish in open concrete tanks at various stages of growth (1 year old, two, etc.). We bought a bucket of food (for $4), and you get to feed it to the fish. They go crazy for the food, so that's a bit entertaining. There is one area where you can actually go fishing. We didn't do it, but those doing it seemed to be having a good time. There is an additional fee to rent pole, etc., but if you want to keep the fish you catch, they are $4 each. Since the pond you are fishing from is FULL of fish, you are fairly likely to catch something (if you are inclined to try). Not a huge amount of documentation on anything, so it;s more a walk and look. Turtle pond did have a load of turtles, and some info about them on a sign. Overall, a decent way to spend a few hours. Mostly outdoors, so not a rainy day thing.

We (hubby and wife) took our 2 little ones, ages 6 and 3 to the Hatchery and Aquarium. We went on a Sunday at 3pm-ish and it was not crowded. The kids loved feeding the trout and visiting the turtles and watching all the fish in the indoor aquariums. This is a nice activity if you are looking for a short field trip for the family. Admission was $6 for adults and $4 for kids 3 and up. We had fun and the kids want to go back....you cant ask for more.

This is a great place to spend a morning or afternoon with the kids. They can feed the fish, and explore the various aquariums stocked with local species, including turtles and snakes. Fun, if not high-class. My then 7- and 5-year-olds loved their visit.

Kids never tire of feeding those trout. Good educational exhibits in a beautiful local. There are hiking trails that can be accessed from the property.

I grew up comign here several times a year with my parents & siblings and it is no less enjoyable as an adult. The fish tanks are still fun to walk around & the nearby lake is delightful for photography as well.
