Appears to be a unique restaurant frequented by locals. Nice selection of entrees, but at the price, food preparation could have been better. Lamb special was cooked as specified but short on flavor. Duck breast was disappointing ( skin not crisped, fat not rendered). Excellent but pricey wine list. Best of our experience here was the service and uniquely interesting décor.

Cathryn's remains a favorite in the Hudson Valley, and we return regularly.

Arrived with my wife and two colleagues from India, both here in Hudson Valley for first time...and the day after snowstorm.

Menu item for everyone. Imaginative salads (Insalate). Perfectly dressed. Notable good Artisan bread served with fruity olive oil, and replenished when asked.

I'm not a dessert person, but always enjoy Cathryn's desserts. Miss the Moo Moo's ice cream and was told will return in the Spring when they re-open.

Tip, ask the price of specials and desserts to avoid any sticker shock. Generally prices are higher when price is not given.

About $60 per person with dinner salad and wine, tax and tip included.

Tip: less than 10 minute walk to Cold Spring MetroNorth Train Station, just south of restaurant.

There is a difference between good and very good. And even a bigger difference from very good to Excellent.

Cathryn's Tuscan Grille has been one of my favorite restaurants in Cold Spring for over a decade. There is a major flavor difference between pasta in a box and homemade pasta. There is no one in the Hudson Valley that makes the most delicious, well crafted Italian pasta dishes than Cathryn's.

We started with a dozen of east and west coast oysters with an effervescent bottle of Cava and devoured our pappardelle with pulled rabbit and gnocchi with lamb ragu. Simply delicious. The perfect homemade pasta chew. The rabbit was juicy and tender with sweet and salty grappa sauce and the lamb ragu was robust and deep with flavor.

Raphael, our waiter, is a charming and professional waiter from yesteryear. Just with a look he came over to anticipate our need.

Excellent Food.
Excellent Service (Raphael).

I highly recommend it!

The food was flavorful, though over salted. Pasta with braised beef was the best thing we chose. My husband had salmon which was bland and dry, the puree it was served with was good though. Service was horrible. I think our server forgot we were there. Atmosphere is the best part of the restaurant. Many people we know had recommended this place, so we will surly try again. I doubt our server will still be working there, I hope anyway.

After a long hike a large plate of pasta sounded good. Finding such delicious homemade pasta with fresh sauce in a small town like Cold Spring was a total surprise. The atmosphere in the restaurant looks very nice and on a beautiful fall day the spacious outdoor patio was even better. We stayed with traditional Italian items and they were all delicious. The service was both friendly and efficient.
