“Our Local Go To Place. If you're from out of town you're lucky to have found Cthryn's”
Reviewed January 8, 2013

Admittedly, the gals meet up in the lounge area at lease 2x a month for drinks, dinner, chatter and always leave happier than can be. Is it that we have our go to cocktails? With always a few new ones to taste test... Is it that we have our go to carvings off the menu that we must sway from as the specials are so darn tempting... Is it the wait staff that laughs with us not at us! Is it that we FEEL like we are in NYC for a night but know we are in quaint and lovely Cold Spring. RUN not walk. RUN to Cathryn's.

“Nice Restaurant and Setting”
Reviewed January 7, 2013

Cathryn's is a nice restaurant. The food is good. The service is very friendly. We especially like it in the summer, when you can sit outdoors. There is a lounge area in the back of the restaurant which is nice when getting together with some friends.

“Haughty and unresponsive management”
Reviewed January 4, 2013

Loud, disturbing phone-using customers that the management refused to address when we requested relief.

“Very Enjoyable Dinner In The Heart Of Town”
Reviewed December 17, 2012

The service was excellent -- caring, attentive, real, human, not fake or forced. The food was very good -- ground lamb appetizer was outstanding as was the most expensive entree ($30) -- one-half lobster, clams and mussels over perfectly cooked homemade pasta with a choice of red or white sauce.

“Competent Meal”
Reviewed October 18, 2012

It's been there for many many years and recently they have expanded into now with a new dining area with store-sized windows opening right on the street. This new room is nicely decorated, inviting, and unlike the other rooms, bright during daylight hours. They must be doing something right to be in continuous operation for this long and attracting enough diners to expand. On the night we were there it was mostly locals, many regulars who keep coming back. Weekends it's that plus the out-of-town visitors attracted to the town and river. Food is medium up-scale Italian, pretty much in line with what you might expect in a restaurant of this grade. Last night's special was trout with olive tapanade togther with a couple of shrimp on the plate. All competently made, but nothing to make it memorable. Value is just OK, if anything maybe just a bit on the high side. A glass of Frascati goes for $10 which is a bit up for what's a very every-day wine. Glass fill is just average, OK, but not generous. Service was fine, but then it was a relatively quiet night. You'll find Cathery's gets the job done if you don't set your expectations too high.
